On December 18, local time, Marvel Studios confirmed that it had parted ways with actor Jonathan Majors. A Manhattan jury previously found Majors guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment.
Majors plays the new villain "Kang the Conqueror" in the Marvel movie "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum of Madness." The film was released in February this year, with a global box office of more than 450 million US dollars. Kang's character appears in several of Marvel's upcoming superhero movies. Majors was originally scheduled to star in the movie "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," which is scheduled to be released in 2026.
Majors is accused of assaulting his girlfriend Grace Jabbari in a car in March this year. On Monday local time, he was found guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. He was acquitted of one count of aggravated harassment and another of assault. Sentencing will take place on February 6 next year. Majors faces up to a year in prison for the assault.
