The China Seismological Network Center organized experts to conduct research and analysis on seismic activity near Jishi Mountain in Gansu Province. This earthquake was located in southeastern Gansu, about 3 kilometers away from the nearest fault on the northern edge of Laji Mountain. Preliminary focal mechanism analysis results show that this earthquake was a thrust rupture.
