Recently, a Harbin Ms. Li revealed to reporters that her husband Liu Jian is a key teacher at the High School Affiliated to Harbin Normal University. In June this year, he participated in a trip to Xinjiang organized by the school and unfortunately died suddenly during the trip. However, the school did not admit that the trip was organized by the school and insisted that it was the teacher's personal behavior.
According to Ms. Li’s introduction, this trip was arranged by Harbin Fengye Travel Agency, and a total of 28 third-year high school faculty and staff and 6 family members participated, including her husband Liu Jian. She said that this trip was very hard, especially the long journey in Xinjiang, which made her husband very tired, often lacked sleep, and his physical functions were severely reduced.
"They only sleep three to five hours a day, and sometimes they have to stay in the scenic spot until late at night. One day they even went to a scenic spot with an altitude of more than 5,000 meters. On June 18, they went to Turpan Flame Mountain. The surface temperature that day reached 67°C, which is a fatal blow to her husband who is already in poor health," Ms. Li said.
She also mentioned that her husband suddenly fainted at 8:10 am on June 20 and unfortunately passed away at 14:55 pm that day. The hospital's death certificate stated sudden death, which made Ms. Li begin to doubt the cause of her husband's death. She believed that her husband did not suffer from heart disease and was usually in good physical condition, so she suspected that the fatigue of traveling had led to his sudden death.
In this regard, Ms. Li also provided her husband’s physical examination report, which proved that her husband was in good health before traveling and did not have any diseases or heart problems.
The school’s attitude made Ms. Li even more angry. She said that the school did not submit the application materials for work-related injury until three months after her husband’s death, and on December 5, the Harbin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau rejected the work-related injury application. The person in charge of the school claimed that the trip was not organized by the school but by the teachers themselves.
Under such circumstances, Ms. Li decided to file an administrative review and has entrusted a lawyer to continue fighting for her husband's work-related injury recognition on her behalf. She hopes to obtain a fair conclusion for her husband through legal means and seek an explanation for his unfortunate death. Ultimately, she hopes to provide a fair forum for other teachers in similar situations.
Sudden death (Sudden death, SD) is the most serious disease in humans. Different literatures have different definitions of sudden death. The author believes that the more scientific definition of sudden death is World Health Organization (WHO) definition of sudden death: "Patients who are usually healthy or seemingly healthy, in an unexpectedly short period of time, due to natural Sudden death due to disease is considered sudden death."
How long does it take from onset of illness to death before it can be considered sudden death? There is no universally recognized unified standard for the specific quantification time. Some people think that the time from onset to death is within 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours. Some people think that it also includes deaths within 48 hours [1] . The World Health Organization believes that the time is within 6 hours, but this is just one opinion. It is generally accepted that those who die within 1 hour of onset are mostly sudden cardiac death .

In March 2015, Teacher Li, the head teacher of the third grade of junior high school at Zhongmou County Foreign Languages School, passed away suddenly due to illness. He was only 36 years old.
On May 26, 2016, Lu Xiongying, a 51-year-old senior mathematics teacher at Qingxi Senior High School in Qianwei County, Leshan, Sichuan, walked off the stage and died of cerebral hemorrhage after insisting on attending classes despite being sick for 17 days.
On December 2018, a 42-year-old teacher Yu Guanghui from Hudian Township Middle School in Pingqiao District, Xinyang City, Henan Province died of a sudden cerebral hemorrhage while listening to a report and taking notes at a teaching seminar.
At around 9:20 pm on September 9, 2019, teacher Li Yingyan, the head teacher of Class 1 (5), No. 2 Middle School, Wangkui County, Heilongjiang, suddenly collapsed on the podium. After resuscitation efforts failed, he unfortunately passed away.
As a teacher, you must not only ensure that you impart knowledge, but also ensure a healthy body. At the same time, also requires relevant departments to conduct a fair trial and give it a reasonable explanation and processing result. After all, protecting the rights and health of teachers is the responsibility and obligation of schools and society.
