The final round of the "2018 E-sports Elite Cup" project "PUBG Mobile" held by Emperor Entertainment at MOSTown, Ma On Shan, Hong Kong officially kicked off. Emperor E-sports team director Toyz came to the scene Very competitive. The editor of Yahoo Kimo E-sports also chatted with Toyz about the League of Legends S8 World Series, Hong Kong e-sports and other topics.
Q: Hello! What do you think is the biggest difference from "League of Legends" to "PUBG Mobile" project, and from player to team director?
Toyz: I think the biggest difference is the difference between the players and the logistics, because as long as the players play well, others have nothing to say. However, from the players to the current identity management team and the content of the company's operations, there is actually a great sense of powerlessness, because there is too much control over how the players play. When I can’t control it, there will be a very strong sense of powerlessness, so in such a strong powerless situation, I have to keep thinking of some ideas to help these players. This is the biggest difference between players and logistics. At the same time It is also the most difficult place.
Of course, the biggest difference between "League of Legends" and "PUBG Mobile" lies in the feeling of watching, because the "PUBG Mobile" project as a viewer has no choice but to get involved in watching the game, because too many things happen in a game, so I can't concentrate on thinking You can see the players, but in "League of Legends", it is easy to see what the players are doing. I think this is the biggest difference.
Q: May I ask what part of the "League of Legends" World Series RNG lost to G2 yesterday, which part do you think is the biggest problem?
Toyz: G2 and G-Rex entered the group stage from the play-in round. In the play-in round, G2 was relatively stronger than G-Rex. Besides, we often do some training games with G2. We know that G2 is a very different team in terms of the current environment. I won’t say that G2 will definitely win, but if RNG draws G2, I know there is a chance to lose, because the problems faced by RNG are very similar to the situation of Flash Wolves. RNG is also playing around UZi players, so it is difficult to maintain their split push. I can only say that G2 really prepared a lot.
Q: We all know that you talked about the team building of "League of Legends" a while ago. Do you have more plans in other e-sports fields or territory?
Toyz: We may launch a new year of e-sports entertainment programs on Twitch or other platforms next year. I hope that in addition to the teams, everyone can pay more attention to some things about e-sports. E-sports talk show, and invite some well-known guests or chat about the hottest topics in "League of Legends" and so on.
Q: E-sports is currently being replaced every year. What do you think of the current Hong Kong e-sports environment?
Toyz: The view on e-sports in Hong Kong is not optimistic. We are currently working hard to create an e-sports atmosphere for the public, and even improve the perception of e-sports in the society. This is what we are currently working on. As for the main reason why Hong Kong’s e-sports is not optimistic, it is because Hong Kong’s small population naturally has a small gaming population. Relatively, the number of viewers is relatively small, and the manufacturer’s willingness to sponsor and advertise is relatively low, so we are actively looking for We want to cooperate in a healthy way acceptable to the selling manufacturers, and at the same time, we really want to start e-sports, but due to many factors, we have encountered many difficulties.
Q: Regarding the previous statement that the "League of Legends" team G-Rex will not use Korean players in the next season, why?
Toyz: I did say this, but I want to clarify that although I don’t want to use Korean players, I will go back to the original question. If there are really no good or qualified local players, Besides, if they can't surpass the current results next year, they may still be overseas players. Of course, if we can find very good local players, we are still willing to train them. The main reason not found so far is thatBecause many good players have long-term contracts, coupled with the revolutionary emotions both personally and on the team, I think this is the most difficult part at this stage.
Q: If you are looking for players who are mainly famous or newcomers?
Toyz: This must be mainly to find players who have performed well, and then to find young 17- and 18-year-old players as reserve players, because I can never form a star team, and there is no player in the team. We all know each other!
