It was invaded by Siam and Vietnam and later by France In 1893, it became the French colony of , . Independence in 1945, abolished the monarchy in 1975 and established a republic.

Laos is one of the least developed countries in the world. Laos is dominated by agriculture, with a weak industrial and service industry foundation, rich water resources, and it produces teak, rosewood and other precious woods.
80% of the territory of Laos is mountainous and plateau, and it is mostly covered by forests, which is known as the "Roof of Indochina". The terrain is high in the north and low in the south. It borders the Yunnan West Yunnan Plateau in the north, the old and Vietnamese borders in the east is the plateau formed by the Changshan Mountains and , and the west is the Mekong Valley and basins and small plains along the Mekong River and its tributaries. From north to south, the country is divided into Shangliao, Zhongliao and Xialiao. Shangliao has the highest terrain. The Chuankhou Plateau has an elevation of 2,000 to 2,800 meters and the highest peak, Pubia Mountain, is 2,820 meters above sea level.
Vientiane is the capital of Laos with an area of 3,920 square kilometers and a population of 850,000. The highest average temperature is 31.7℃, and the lowest average temperature is 22.6℃. Vientiane is an ancient historical city. Since the King Setatira moved his capital from Luang Prabang in the mid-16th century, Vientiane has always been the political, economic and cultural center of Laos. Vientiane means "the city of sandalwood", and it is rumored that sandalwood was abundant here. Vientiane is located on the valley plain on the north bank of the middle reaches of the Mekong River, facing Thailand across the river. Because the city stretches along the banks of the Mekong River and takes a crescent shape, Vientiane is also known as the "Moon City". Vientiane is the largest industrial and commercial city in Laos.
The Lao People’s Revolutionary Party was originally affiliated with the Indo-Chinese GCD established in 1930. In 1934, the Indo-Chinese GCD established the Lao Local Committee to guide the Lao people in the struggle against Japan and the French colonial rule! To put it bluntly, the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party is a branch of Vietnam.
At present, Laos and Vietnam maintain a special state-to-state relationship, foreign policy and military are under the guidance and influence of Vietnam.
In 1977, Vietnam and Laos signed the far-reaching "Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation." The Vietnamese army that had just withdrawn from Laos in 1976 re-entered Laos after less than a year. While suppressing the rebellion in Laos, the Vietnamese army also carried out construction in the northern mountains. In terms of economic cooperation, each economic sector in Laos has a special coordination agency set up by Vietnam, and a full-level regular exchange mechanism has been established from high-level to basic-level. Under the guidance of the cooperation agreement signed between Vietnam and Laos, between 1975 and 1985, Vietnam sent consultants, technical experts and construction personnel to Laos to carry out about 200 economic projects, and Vietnam actually took charge of Laos.
A fact that must be recognized at present is that Vietnam has a very deep penetration into Laos, and Laos will carry out any activities held by major events in Vietnam at the same time.
Vietnam’s ambitions are greater than Japan’s. After successfully defeating the two white empires (only Vietnam in Asia did it) empires: France and the United States, the ambitions inflated rapidly. Fortunately, our leadership did not repeat the mistakes of the Qing government. In the face of Japan’s repeated provocations, the government allowed it to annex the Korean Peninsula. In order to avoid the war, without restraint or interference, the government has always regarded it as a small state. At that time, the whole world believed that Japan’s provocation of the Qing Dynasty meant death. They were defeated, but their opponents were the number one powers. These powers also won and lost each other. Therefore, the Western powers still listed Qing as a world power. As a result, Japan succeeded and became the number one in Asia, replacing China, and China's international status plummeted. , And what followed was the eight-nation coalition invading China in an attempt to carve up China. After that, Japan was even more terrible to rub China on the ground!
So in the face of Vietnam’s eagerness to try, China at that time quickly judged that Vietnam was trying to follow Japan’s old path, and without hesitation, it was quick and easy, and directly gave it a blow, and it dragged on Vietnam for 10 years. The border collapsed as a training ground. When the top leaders came to seek peace, neighboring countries had already entered the fast lane of development, and Vietnam finally returned to its place and licked its wounds silently!
Even if the current GDP of Vietnam is still less than Guangxi, even if Vietnam has a very strong penetration of Laos, as long as the northern neighbors take a look there, everything is calm and everything is under control. This is also the sadness of Vietnam! It is our great fortune!
