At that time, cross-strait exchanges began to become more frequent, and there were more news about Taiwan introduced by Lin Lin on TV, because of the little words of my mother when I was a child, because of my little interest in history, and because of the "A Century Passed——" In the documentary of "Zhang Xueliang", I began to take the initiative to learn about Taiwan. At that time, I saw Mr. Guo Guanying on TV again, the man who opened my historical vision 10 years ago. Time flies, youth is no longer, he is old, his head is also bald, he is no longer the young man who entered the temple of God and can't wait to walk to Zhang Xueliang, eager to grasp the fleeting history. Because of his patriotism, he was just an ordinary civil servant. He was attacked by the green camp, and the blue camp had his tail docked to survive. Mr. Guo said that in 1949, when Zhang Xueliang was imprisoned in the clear spring of Xitou, Touqian, he was born in the Hsinchu Hospital in Xiwei. At this time, Mr. Guo not only approached Zhang Xueliang, he also met historians such as Tang Degang, Wu Tianwei, Wang Ji, and Zhang Xueliang's home under the Datun Mountains, which left us with precious images of "A Century Passed." Mr. Guo Guanying said that, in fact, he always wanted to "united front" Zhang Xueliang, and wanted him to return to the mainland to write a perfect ending to this Chinese story, even if he cried with joy and shed a few tears. The 2011 game became a turning point in my life. I was fortunate to have done something to fill the gap in history, even if it was only a little bit, because I met Mr. Guo Guanying. Later, I started writing for historical documentaries, and I had the opportunity to go to Taiwan. I made a lot of friends. They were all born in Taiwan. Of course, in the changing political environment of Dou Zhuan Xing Yi, they all became "alien."
Among these friends, Dr. Chen Zhengyu is very special. He was born in a family in Taiwan and has no relationship with mainland China. However, he spent 20 years traveling and studying in the mainland.
Once, in a tavern on Yanji Street in Taipei, Dr. Chen told me his story on both sides of the strait.
In 1997, he accompanied a group of Taiwanese doctors to Beijing for exchange visits. At that time, when I learned that I was shooting a documentary about the War of Resistance Against Japan, Dr. Chen gave me some documents published by the National History Museum. Among these illegible notes and files, I was unexpectedly surprised in the "Compilation of Historical Materials on Political Cases in Taiwan after the War". It confirms the story my mother told me when he was a child. It turned out that his name was Li Hemin. During the Anti-Japanese War, he and his brother Lan Minggu went to the motherland one after another. After Taiwan’s recovery, Lan Minggu returned to Taiwan to continue to devote himself to the revolution. Taipei’s Machang Town, while Li Hemin stayed on the mainland and dedicated his life to the medical career of the motherland. The father of the classmate mentioned by the mother was him.
I never imagined that because of the interaction with Dr. Chen, my mother only talked in a few words, and crossed the strait more than 20 years later, which involved a twisted and moving historical story. A pair of Taiwanese brothers resisted Japanese colonial rule and looked for the deeds of the motherland. On the paper. In September 2017, when I visited Taiwan again as a media worker, in front of the Monument to the People’s Heroes of Taiwan in Machang, Taipei, I thought about the history of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, and thought about the period of white terror that spread ideals and beliefs.
