Track introduction

On this autumn night, with the piano soundtrack of 19th century classical romanticism, we walked into the limited-time concert hall above the balcony of Changsha City. Tonight, we will revisit a classical and romantic light and shadow journey with the sound of music, from the classic works of romantic representatives such as Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Schumann, to movie soundtracks, jazz and Chinese folk music, etc. Performed in the form of a multiple ensemble, an ultimate sensory feast of musical classics will be presented before your eyes.

Liszt, as one of the representatives of the Romantic period, was a Hungarian composer and pianist. He composed more than 600 piano works in his lifetime. Among them, this one was adapted from Schumann's "Dedication" and was specially composed for his beloved wife Clara. This is a romantic song with a strong lyrical meaning. The composer turns his attention from the praise of the Creator to the depiction of warm daily life. He reminds us to live in the present, focus on the details of loving and being loved, and regain interaction and trust between people.

The piano wanders to Balakirev's "Islamic". Composer Balakirev was the leader of a powerful Russian group in the 19th century. In 1869, he went to the Caucasus to collect folk songs, created new creations and interpretations of local folk songs, and wrote the song "Islame". The song has a strong folk custom and is also known as "Oriental Fantasia". The performance of "Islame" is by no means an easy task. It requires skillful display of performance skills such as continuous octaves, rapid long-distance jumps, rapid unison repetition, and polyphony, in order to bring the carnival of a foreign nation here.

When we were young, we both sang "Twinkle, Twinkle, Twinkle" - a children's song adapted from a French nursery rhyme. But have you ever heard the ancient Mexican folk song "Estrellita"? This lyrical and elegant ditty was composed by the composer Ponce after seeing the clear starry sky and beautiful land in Mexico during his travels. Ponce uses melodious tunes to outline the romance and fantasy of swimming in the vast starry night.

It has been ten years since the release of "Frozen". Among them, the movie theme song "Let it Go" is still sung with its majestic and exciting melody, and another soundtrack song "Love is an Open Door" "(The Door of Love Opens)", with its unique playfulness and lightness, shows a fresh feeling and warm narrative that is different from the former. In the movie, Princess Anna and Prince Hans fall in love with each other and sing this song to each other. However, as the plot develops, the prince's dark and hypocritical side is exposed, and their true love breaks down. Rereading this song today, what passes through us is not only the joyful feeling of love, but also the dialectics and deep thinking of true love.

The most beautiful tango in Hollywood movies should come from "Scent of a Woman" in the 1990s, because "One Step Away" played by the piano septet will always be elegant and passionate. Some people say that the reason why this piece is called "One Step Away" is because when dancers dance to the music, they can never dance enough and they are always short of the last step. In the eyes of some people, this song is more like the entanglement and pull between lovers. It’s too hot when it’s close, and it’s too lonely when it’s far away. One step away, one step towards true love.

Modern pop music has a strong cross-border power. Through the combination with film media, it can create the meaning of classics in a new context, which is enough to form a modern classic that can stand shoulder to shoulder with classical classics. Listen to the differences of classic music in different centuries. way of expression. Hisaishi Joe must be one of the unsurpassable masters of contemporary film scores. The song "Kikujiro's Summer" he composed always gives people a dreamy and hazy feeling.

Innovation and rebellion can be called synonymous with the British band Queen. In 1975, lead singer Freddie created the epic song "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the history of rock music in front of the piano at home. In just six minutes, the song is performed in five chapters and four styles, and along with it comes the most gorgeous and unique melody and tune in rock music.

"Mission: Impossible Theme" sneaks in the dark night as the end of the first half. It passes through the fog and dangerous obstacles and once again takes everyone back to the thrilling scene of "Mission: Impossible".

At the beginning of the second half, two piano solos by Liszt will be presented.

The first piano piece is Liszt's adaptation of Schubert's work "Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel" - this piece was composed when Schubert was 17 years old and is one of his most representative early works. The song is based on Goethe's poetic tragedy "Faust" and depicts a lovelorn girl named Gretchen, lingering in front of a spinning wheel and whispering her love and reluctance to her lover.

Among Liszt's works, "12 Technique Etudes" best reflects the performer's superb piano skills. The pianist will play "No. 11 Harmony of Night", and as the music moves from soothing to intense, it seems as if the afternoon sun is no longer dazzling, and the remaining heat of the scorching sun is gradually dissipating with the arrival of dusk. At this moment, Everything is silent, only the music is always there.

movies observe the world through the lens and also create a new mode of musical expression. Those familiar classic music always have different expressions in different eras and backgrounds. From "Kikujiro's Summer" to "Carousel of Life" in "Howl's Moving Castle", the works composed by the film soundtrack master Joe Hisaishi always have a strong summer style, as if the sun is just right and everything is alive. This music As the summer wind blows through the grass and ripples in the pond water, ripples appear in people's hearts.

"The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" is a classic musical film produced by French director Jacques Demy in 1964. The play combines song and dance music with film media. Under the background of music, it uses singing and dancing to show full emotions and turbulent emotions that go beyond traditional narratives. "La La Land" director Damien Chazelle was also deeply influenced by the show. The movie's opening scene, "Another Day of Sun," uses exquisite and gorgeous song and dance scenes to give a surreal expression to the protagonist's desire to chase his dreams. Just like music, it always has the power to transcend real life.

If we talk about a classic love movie that will last forever, then "Titanic" must be indispensable. In the movie, the deep and pure relationship between Rose and Jack touched the hearts of audiences around the world. We will re-perform the classic soundtrack "My Heart Will Go On" to reinterpret the love that lasts until death.

"Vltava" is the soundtrack of the film and television drama "The Tree of Life". Director Terrence Malick uses music as a "tentacle" other than visuals, using music to awaken the audience's deepest sensory feelings and lead us to Explore the true meaning of nature and life.

“He’s an Pirate” and “Up is Down”, the majestic Pirates of the Caribbean Suite. Let music once again bring back memories of the golden age of piracy in the 18th century, with compasses, rum, humid sea breeze, and the Black Pearl. After all, who in their childhood never dreamed of wandering far away, longing to find their own sea of stars?

The sound of piano flows, from Western classical music to Eastern Chinese style. We bring a mash up of Lu Wencheng's famous Cantonese song "Autumn Moon over the Flat Lake" and Jay Chou's popular ancient song "Blue and White Porcelain". From southern folk music to Chinese-style pop music, from the magnificent Autumn Moon over the West Lake to the classical utensils under the Jiangnan ink landscape, "the sky is blue and misty rain, thousands of miles across the river", what remains unchanged is the beauty and softness of this river and mountains scenery.

As "Liuyang River" and "The East is Red" are played, the concert is coming to an end. We have mixed and adapted the two classic red ballads into a new whole. The songs continue the "decades" sung by generations. Lishui Road to Xiangjiang River" will reverberate in the wider world. "It's all over, let's count the famous people, but let's look at the present." In Chairman Mao's hometown, beside the Xiangjiang River, we commemorate and praise the achievements of our revolutionary martyrs.
