Walnut Bespoke Leather Designs
工业的迅速发展,使得众多手工艺被替代,很多时候我们会忽视真正具有质感的,能代表传统手工艺制作的木头和皮革。 Walnut studio has regained this romantic "old world" hand-made craftsmanship and brought different products.
architect Geoffrey Franklin From an old photo of cycling’s golden age, feel their unique clothes, they are riding bicycles and their unique style, full of beauty. Starting from this photo, he got inspiration, with the understanding of the design process and the passion of traditional craftsmanship, he made the leather case of the U-lock, and then continued to make leather and wooden accessories by himself, and incorporated them into his own Life.
Since 2009, Walnut began to sell its own products online. Although Geoffrey Franklin only designs products now, everything is still handmade by hired employees. Using durable, natural materials, the traditional beauty of their products, from bicycle accessories to interior decoration, has evolved into a way of life.
Stowe Provisions
Stowe Provisions was founded in Austin, Texas in 2003 by two childhood friends from Minnesota, Mark Stowe and Mark Howard. The long-standing western cowboy culture and numerous farms here also laid a solid foundation for the establishment of Stowe Provisions. The two of them were self-taught and gradually became leather craftsmen and began to actually make and design things they loved. They do not have low requirements for themselves, and all products must meet their own inner standards before they can be considered complete.
Their products are all done by themselves from cutting, to making molds, to coloring the leather. Hand-picked full-grain leathers, eco-friendly dyes, and no-nonsense materials choices. Their designs are all in the most classic American style, using traditional craftsmanship, and they joked that their hands are the best materials used by Stowe Provisions.
Tanner Goods
来自波兰特的皮革品牌 Tanner Goods 也不得不提,传承了当地的工匠精神。 Time-tested craftsmanship and tools, still handcrafted, are rare qualities at this Northwestern studio.
Tanner Goods’ pursuit of retro style starts with making tools one by one. Traditional tools combined with traditional craftsmanship can produce the most authentic ‘Made in USA’. Of course, Tanner Goods is also unambiguous about the selection of leather. Horween Leather and Bridle Leather are their first choice.
They have been pursuing a concept of hand-made, not quantity. In addition to being in Portland, Tanner Goods also has its own store
in Los Angeles. These handmade leather goods all have the personal charm of craftsmen. These small studios are not famous big brands. But the ideas they convey through the products make those products shine.
