On September 18, 2019, in the loud and solemn national anthem, the 2019 opening ceremony of Tsinghua University Wudaokou School of Finance was held at Tsinghua University. The auditorium was grandly held. College leaders, full-time teachers and heads of various departments attended the opening ceremony. More than 500 new students participated in the 2019 PhD student in Finance, Master student in Finance, Tsinghua-Cornell Double Degree Finance MBA, Finance EMBA, Global Finance GFD, Tsinghua Wudaokou Financial Media Scholarship Training Program, and Tsinghua Wudaokou Global Entrepreneurship Leadership Program ceremony. Zhang Xiaohui, the dean of the college, gave a speech first. She expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of the new classmates and also raised earnest expectations. She shared three sentences with all teachers and students. The first sentence is: "Talents are superior and inferior, knowing things and learning", I hope that students will make unremitting explorations on the road of pursuing knowledge and wisdom, and use financial knowledge to reshape the concept of the world. The second sentence is: "Benefit the world, do it for the benefit of the world." I hope that the students will clarify the meaning of reading, understand the meaning and role of finance for the country, and do things that are beneficial to the world. The third sentence is: "Don't be afraid of hardship, dare to be the first, emphasize unity, and focus on contributions"-this is the "Wudaokou Spirit" condensed and put forward by Teacher Liu Hongru. Zhang Xiaohui said that the students should all be the inheritors of the "Wudaokou Spirit" and forge themselves with the original intention of making more contributions to the country.

Zhang Xiaohui said that my country's financial reform and development is still in progress and in the process of arduous exploration, and the difficulty and risk greatly exceed other areas. From the Graduate School of the People's Bank of China to Wudaokou, Tsinghua University, the college has always connected finance and education, and connected the present and future of financial reform. Standing at a new historical starting point, I hope that students from Wudaokou of Tsinghua University will be firmly rooted in the practice of China's financial reform and development, and continue to absorb the nutrients of practice and knowledge, and become the financial vanguard of the "top of the sky" and "situation".

Kuang Xiaohong, deputy director of the Research Bureau of the People's Bank of China, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. She said that as a 1991 alumni, she was very grateful for the training of her alma mater and the teachings of the teachers. Entrusted by Wang Xin, Director of the Research Bureau of the People’s Bank of China, Kuang Xiaohong also proposed the “dual-pillars” of quantitative easing and inflation, monetary policy and macro-prudence, coordination of fiscal policy and monetary policy, the challenge of central bank independence, and digital currency versus tradition She hopes to inspire students to think and explore five aspects of the impact of the financial system, and encourage them to conduct in-depth study and research on key issues of high concern at home and abroad.
