Wudaokou School of Finance of Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as "Wudaokou School of Finance") was born on March 29, 2012, with Wu Xiaoling, former deputy governor of the Central Bank of China, as its first dean. Its predecessor was the Graduate School of the People's Bank of China, and was known as the "Whampoa Military Academy" in the financial industry. Zhang Xiaohui holds a master's degree in 1985 and a doctorate degree in 1991 from Wudaokou University of Finance. After graduating with a master's degree in 1987, Zhang Xiaohui entered the Capital Management Department of the People's Bank of China. Later in September 1994, he became a senior researcher in the Hong Kong and Macau Management Office of the Bank of China, and returned to the Central Bank Office as a deputy director in 1996. In August 2000, Zhang Xiaohui served as the chief representative of the central bank's representative office in the Americas, and in May 2003 as the senior advisor to the China Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund.
From October 2003 to September 2004, Zhang Xiaohui served as Director of the Financial Market Department of the Central Bank.
