"Carnival Murder" trailer

Of course, this British actor is no stranger to fantasy movies. He once played the role of the fairy prince Legolas in Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" series and became famous. In his most recent project, the new black fantasy TV series "Carnival Murders", Bloom played Laker Ford Ferostra, or "Fero".

This is a mixed-race human, he is tasked with investigating an unsettled murder case. The show centers on Philo and his fairy lover Vignat Stonemos (played by Carla Delevingne), telling the story of mysterious creatures fleeing their war-damaged homes and gathering in crowded cities. The story that happened. These cities are like a cultural melting pot, full of tensions brought about by all kinds of diversity.

The eight episodes of the first season of the show aired just a few weeks ago, and the second season has been renewed.

was in Los Angeles not long ago. Mtime.com got a face-to-face communication with Orlando Bloom. We chatted with the 42-year-old actor about his work in "Carnival Murders". He was on social networks for this show On the comments and related opinions, his engagement with Katie Perry, and other things. An excerpt of the dialogue is as follows:

Q: You have changed from an elf to a human. Is this a downgrade for you?

Orlando Bloom : (laughs) For me, this is very interesting because I am very interested in Philo's character. He is a figure full of secrets. He grew up in an orphanage and became a policeman after he finished his military service. Therefore, he was institutionalized all his life.

When I read the script for the first time, I saw this character and thought: "Wow, this is really interesting." Of course, since this is a TV series, its playing time span is longer. I probably only read the first five episodes of the script, and I was immediately attracted by the role's potential, and I was very happy to work with (co-screenwriter) Travis Beecham, he was very good. This story is his creativity, his children. He has some great ideas, and this is a great collaboration. So, in fact, although the role of is a human being, he is still full of secrets, and there are many things that can do about it.

Q: You are no stranger to action movies, but are you now physically prepared for this character? Are you satisfied with this aspect of your work?

Orlando Bloom : Yes, Philo is a very powerful character. His body is very strong. He is very impactful, do you know? This impact can be sudden, coming from anywhere, and it can be frightening. So I did a lot of physical preparation.

Actually I like road cycling. I used to like mountain biking, but when I was in Prague, I became obsessed with road biking, which is cool because it is a very beautiful location for filming. I did a lot of cycling and exercise. I also try to eat a reasonable diet so that I can do all the action scenes. We filmed some big action scenes here. In addition, as you know, the time on any type of shooting schedule is always tight, so you need to keep yourself healthy, alive, and awake.

Q: There are a lot of comments about this play on social networks. Your role is the kind of protector who doesn't really speak out in the society. In real life, how do you think you, as an activist, will speak for people who may be weaker?

Orlando Bloom : I think the refugee immigration crisis has been happening all over the world for many years.thing. This is a big problem, not new. However, what is interesting is that at this particular time, the play is closely related to the world we live in today, and it mirrors the current very much. The

film studios Legendary Pictures and Amazon, as well as Travis’s creative methods have left a deep impression on me, all of which have really faced this point directly without evading it. I think this requires a lot of confidence. Because this is a fantasy world and there is no real history, the operator of the show and us as actors involved in it should bear certain responsibilities. The

drama gives you the opportunity to truly understand these issues objectively. Because of the fantasy element, you can look at the problem objectively and choose a standpoint. I would say that this is really confronting fear.

People now worry about the existence of "another group" in the world, right? "What will happen if these people come to our community? Oh my goodness, what are we going to do? Will they take everything from us? Take our jobs, take our money, take our women? Who? Do you know?" (laughs)

But from the perspective of immigration, what will these "other group" people expect? How will they be received? What would it be like for them to go to a new place? Leave everything, lose everything? This is a very interesting opportunity to explore all of this, and I think this is one of the reasons why I like this show so much.

Then, as you said, Filo is a man of incredible compassion. In the third episode, one can really see how he was affected by the war, and how this affects his relationship with Wignet—for her and her kind (fairies), this is a real fear. So that is a wonderful thing for me.

As far as my actual life is concerned, I have been engaged in related work at UNICEF for many years, so I have witnessed the real situation of the immigrant refugee crisis and its potential fear. Imagine what would happen if there was no home. Therefore, it is really exciting to be able to understand these real issues in this drama.

asked: "Carnival Murder" talked about and performed the separation of children from their parents, and you mentioned that Filo was an orphan. Your father died when you were four. How did this affect you? Have you found a substitute for this relationship in your life? Can acting be done?

Orlando Bloom : Yes, I think it will be very helpful for the development of the role of Ferro. There is always a complicated story about my father, and the story has been repeated many times. But I think what I do as a young man is to watch movies and observe the characters in life. Maybe I will come up with what a man should be like? Therefore, for Fellow, I would like to say that he should also be facing a similar situation.

I think that as an institutionalized person, Feiluo has been following instructions all his life. However, when we saw me as a police officer in "Carnival Murder", he grew up and crossed these boundaries, or called his growing prison. Moreover, I think that as a man, you will grow and progress, right? We are all on the journey of different forms of healing-moving slowly until we die. (laughs)

asked: Can you talk about working with Carla? What is she like as an actress and screen partner?

Orlando Bloom : She is great. I was not familiar with her as an actor before, but when I saw some of her works, I felt that I was immediately attracted by her beauty and reality . And you can see this authenticity in her character in the play-this is indeed very effective for the character creation of Wignet Stoner. She is a bit hot-tempered, competitive and energetic.

When I was still reading the script, I remember they said that she had been auditioning for this role, and since then, I can no longer see or imagine anyone else who can work like that. plus she looks a bit like a fairy , do you know what I mean? So, I think this is a good casting and a good role for her.

Q: You are no stranger to love scenes, but in fact, the love scenes in "Carnival Murder" seem to be completely different. (Laughs) Sometimes you hang upside down. Can you talk about that? How awkward are these scenes?

Orlando Bloom : Very embarrassing and unusual. (Laughs) It's not about uncomfortable and technical issues. youWhat you need to do is to make yourself believable. You are in a fantasy world, but you are also suspended above the ground. (Laughs) Too much happened. But, in the end, this is strange. You constantly want to know how to get to this moment, to make yourself feel real, full of passion, to make the two people connected and full of love.

For Wignet and Filo, this is a true bond of love. This is not a quick or random thing, but a real connection between two people. I don’t think any actor will say to you: "I really like making love scenes." The scenes are always embarrassing. The whole crew are watching you doing things that make you feel vulnerable. But this requires you to solve it through communication. (Laughs) You just need to define the boundaries of that moment and trust the director. We arranged an excellent director for that scene: Anna Foster. She directed our group of love scenes, so it was very good.

Q: How about your life after you get engaged? How is your relationship with Katie Perry’s family?

Orlando Bloom : Very good, thank you. This is a big project. We are building a castle for two people to live in—a castle in a metaphorical sense. I think we are both... well, of course I am mature enough, I think we are mature enough and smart enough to know that the odds are the same in any relationship , right? Therefore, you must enjoy the destruction of war as before (laughs). We are doing this. This is important to anyone, and I think it is as important to us as it is to anyone else. We are well.

Q: Can you give an example of what you think you have learned from love?

Orlando Bloom: I want to really get along with my son - Lujuba

Bloom and ex-wife Miranda Kerr’s son "Little Flower"

Orlando Bloom: I want to say I want to get along with my son. I try not to use the phone, trying to create important memories and moments with him. I try to keep doing this. I try to do little things because I think all the little things count-like buying ice cream or a cup of tea, and doing little daily things.

asked: Where's Katie? What little things did you do with her?

Orlando Bloom : You know, there are many small things. (Pause, laugh) I am just thinking about how much trouble I will get into. (Laughs) You know, I think this is like every important relationship. There are always small things—whether you write a note or express gratitude to make someone feel that you care about them, see and appreciate what they do, so that someone feels safe, secure, and connected. I think this is what Katie and I did for each other.
