86 version of "Journey to the West" is an insurmountable classic in our minds, there will be more or less regrets. After all, there was no complete version of it that year, so in 1998, we had to make a remake of "Journey to the West". "In the end, the 86th edition, 25 episodes version, and the later 16 episodes version were formed.
In 1988, the 25 episodes of "Journey to the West" filmed by director Yang Jie were broadcast to audiences all over the country. Although everyone was very happy to watch it, in Yang Jie’s mind, it was an incomplete version. She wanted to shoot as soon as possible. A few episodes that were chopped off. However, the subsequent series of events such as the dissolution of the crew made director Yang Jie's heart cold.
However, "Journey to the West" is after all the hard work of her and the crew. When she learned that some of the actors in the play had also passed away, Director Yang Jie felt that we could not wait any longer. Wait until the four masters and apprentices are old. Law shot. However, even though Yang Jie was very anxious, it still dragged on until 1998. Prior to this, I had been talking about copyright and raising funds, but it was finally this year that they all agreed.
In that year, Director Yang Jie was 70 years old, but Director Yang still insisted on being on the front line and directed the full shooting of the sequel. At the beginning, Director Yang's idea was to perfectly integrate the remake of "Journey to the West" into the 25-episode version, so he used two Tang monks again. In the
86 version of "Journey to the West", Xu Shaohua and Chi Zhongrui played mostly Tang Seng, so Xu Shaohua was also performed in the previous episodes, and then it was convenient to pick up the 86 version of Xu Shaohua's shots. The later episodes let Chi Chongrui perform, and it is also convenient to pick up Chi Chongrui in the 86 version. However, after the shooting, Director Yang Jie discovered that after 17 years, it was different from the previous work in many aspects, and the style did not match, especially the makeup and picture quality were completely inconsistent. Therefore, there is no alternative but to edit separately into a "Journey to the West Sequel".
In order to better link up, Yang Jie adopted a flashback method, from telling stories to Tang Taizong, naturally telling the difficult things that were not filmed. In addition, when filming "Journey to the West Sequel", the Taiwanese leaders integrated various reasons and replaced Ma Dehua and Sha monk under cautious circumstances.
