On August 24, Waterdrop Motors learned through the official information that the new SAIC-GM Chevrolet Mai Ruibao XL originally planned to be launched today was postponed to the beginning of September. The new Mai Rui Bao XL has not changed much in terms of appearance. The main changes are concentrated in the power part. The new car will add a 1.5T four-cylinder engine to replace the current 1.3T three-cylinder engine.
The exterior design of the new Mai Ruibao XL continues the current model. The front face still uses a polygonal large-mouth grille, and the front has sharp lines and is aggressive. The headlights are integrated with the air intake grille, and the fog lights and daytime running lights are placed on both sides of the lower grille to further widen the horizontal visual effect. The side of the body continues the "wave-shaped" double waistline design, maintaining a good sense of movement. In terms of dimensions of
, the length, width and height of the new car are 4933mm/1854mm/1472mm (1476mm with shark fin antenna), and the wheelbase is 2829mm, which is consistent with the current model.
The new Mai Ruibao XL has a rounded and full rear shape. The horizontal taillights are perfectly combined with the tail box. At the same time, the lower part adopts a recessed design to enrich the layering of the rear. The exhaust layout still uses two rectangular tail rows on both sides to enhance the sporty feeling of the whole vehicle.
shifts the line of sight to the car. The interior layout of the new car is basically the same as that of the current model. It is wrapped in a large area of soft material. It also provides a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, an embedded 8-inch central control screen and LCD instruments. It is understood that the new car has also been upgraded for the intelligent network connection system.
For the new Mai Rui Bao XL, the most noteworthy part is the power system. The new car will replace the 1.3T three-cylinder engine on the current model with a 1.5T four-cylinder engine. The engine has a maximum power of 119kW, a peak torque of 252N·m, an official fuel consumption of 6.3L/100km, and a top speed of 205km/h. In addition, the new car will continue to provide a 2.0T four-cylinder engine, and both engines are matched with a 9-speed automated manual transmission.
Water drop point of view:
Since SAIC-GM released the eighth-generation power system, SAIC-GM's Ecotec 1.0T and 1.3T engines have been widely used in a variety of Buick and Chevrolet models. However, the declining sales volume has made SAIC GM wake up like a dream. At the beginning of this year, the Buick Yinglang and Chevrolet Cruze added a 1.5L four-cylinder self-priming engine equipped with L2B, which is the same 1.5L engine before. SAIC-GM restarted the four-cylinder engine to make up for the sales gap.
is a medium-sized car, and the Malibao XL small-displacement vehicle restarts the four-cylinder engine. Its role is to help sales get back on track. As for whether this can be achieved, it remains to be tested by the market.
