Hao Bo Village is 100 years old.
On August 8, a special anniversary, Hao Baicun, the former chief executive of Taiwan, published his memoir.
Hao Bocun has the habit of writing a diary. This memoir is based on his own diary and his personal observation of history and current events. It took him more than ten years to complete it word by word. The book contains 250,000 words and contains 64 precious historical photos of family, military and political affairs.
Haobo Village’s life has witnessed many important and critical moments in the development of the Chinese nation in the past 100 years.
Reading this book is like reading a long history of a great era.
Hao Baicun joined the army at the age of 17 and participated in the War of Resistance Against Japan. With the Kuomintang, he retreated to Taiwan. After the Kinmen artillery battle, he served as the chief guard of Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Ching-kuo's father and son, and was later appointed the head of Taiwan's military department and the chief executive.
Unfortunately, Hao Baicun was unable to attend the press conference due to a slight illness on that day, so Hao Longbin, the eldest son and vice chairman of the KMT, gave a speech on his behalf.
Hao Longbin said, “To publish the memoirs of Hao Bocun today is the best birthday gift and also Hao Bocun’s lifelong wish.”
Hao Longbin said, "The core of the whole memoir is to rejuvenate China, protect Taiwan and fight independence. I believe the one thing he most hopes to say to everyone is that the revolution has not yet succeeded, and comrades must still work hard on ."
Hao Longbin said that his father is a true hero in his heart and an eternal example to follow.
Hao Bocun devoted his later years to recording history, especially the history of the Chinese nation's resistance against Japan.
He has traveled to the mainland many times to survey the relics of the War of Resistance against Japan, and he is also very concerned about the development of cross-strait relations. Ma Ying-jeou, the former leader of Taiwan who was invited to attend, praised Hao Bocun’s memoirs for helping Taiwan to set things right.

Hao Baicun’s life reflects part of the light and shadow of the Chinese nation in the past century. He resolutely opposes Taiwan independence and hopes that the younger generation will be able to rejuvenate China by reading history and seeing the past and future of both sides of the strait.
Hao Bai Village is from Yancheng, Jiangsu. At the age of 19, Lieutenant Hao Bai Village took his parents and siblings to the photo studio in the county town and took the first family portrait in his life.
In the era of military turmoil, Hao Bocun thought at the time that even if he died in battle, at least his family would have a picture taken as a permanent memorial.
As a result, Hao Bocun really never saw his parents again.
He was fortunate enough to survive the war, and later he was an extremely human minister.
However, his parents died of illness before victory in the War of Resistance. Because of this, Hao Bocun always took this photo with him, and later invited someone to paint it into an oil painting, which is still hanging at home.
Hao Bai Village used to be an artillery, often mobilized from north to south to support various battlefields. Compared with the infantry who fights directly with the enemy, the artillery, who serves as fire support, is not on the front line most of the time. Perhaps it is one of the reasons why he can survive the war. The memoir of
states that at the end of 1938, the Japanese army captured Guangzhou. Hao Baicun had been sent to support the defense, but he had not received any notice of retreat. When the troops retreated in an emergency, the convoy was also strafed by Japanese fighters.
The driver beside Hao Baicun died on the spot, and he was also wounded and covered in blood. After he recovered from his injury, he didn't take this matter to heart.
It was not until 75 years later that he had a health check in the hospital. A computer tomography scan of his head revealed a metal reaction, showing a small shrapnel embedded in the skull. He only knew that the original war had left "souvenirs" on him. In Hao Baicun’s memoirs,
said half-jokingly: “I don’t have any dementia problems when I reach old age, perhaps thanks to this shrapnel”.
If you survive a catastrophe, you will have luck.
Hao Bocun, who is not a native of Zhejiang, took over as Chief Guard of Chiang Kai-shek. He was mixed. On the one hand, it means that Old Jiang affirmed his past performance, but "to accompany a monarch like a tiger", there is a slight difference, and the future stops on the spot.
As a result, Hao Bocun’s performance was highly affirmed by the two Chiangs. The chief guard worked for more than four years, paving the way for his subsequent development in the military.
Hao Baicun had always been physically strong, and he could also play golf and swim regularly.
However, in September last year, his wife Guo Wanhua passed away, which was a big blow to him.
In April of this year, he suffered a sudden stroke and was in a critical condition for a time. After the rescue by medical staff, he gradually recovered. However, his health after the stroke was not as good as before, which also prevented him from attending the new book launch meeting in person today.
Hao Bo Village has worked throughout his life, with leadership as the mainstay, from the platoon leader with 40 people to the chief executive with 23 million people.
He felt in his memoirs: "Leaders, regardless of their position, have different time and space concepts, but the problems and difficulties they face are inevitable. How to deal with the problems? How to break through the difficulties? It all depends on the leadership art of the leader. The essence of leadership is Art, , my method of dealing with problems and breaking through difficulties is to adhere to the principle of big right and wrong, naturally the problems are not difficult, and the difficulties have nothing to do with ".
