American industrial films are very mature. I think it’s difficult to make a movie bad if you are willing to invest in all aspects of professionalism. The comics have a certain comic audience, and I want to make it easier for people to accept it, but it’s adapted from DC comics. The movie "Thunder Shazam" in my opinion is not satisfactory.
The character at the beginning of the story is turned out to be the villain, Dr. Shivana. There is still a lot of space to tell about his growth. I don’t think this is a successful approach. The superhero Shazam is not as popular as Superman and Batman. If the film can fully show the characteristics of Shazam to the audience, it will be a success, but if it is done this way, the protagonist’s drama will be reduced, and the protagonist’s growth will have to be explained again. The audience really wants to see the protagonist and the villain. The growth process? It may be good to have an extra special, but it is better not to elaborate too much in a short movie. After all, the name of the movie is "Thunder Shazam" instead of Billy Batson's Growing Up or Shivana's Growing Up.
Billy Batson was inherited by the old wizard Shazam because the old wizard affirmed his quality, pure heart and righteous personality. Then the protagonist is not portrayed enough in the plot. He spends too much time testing his superpowers. Even fighting crime seems to be a show. Even if the bus is saved, the cause of the accident will be his own. Can be regarded as saving the fault and should not be regarded as a hero. The change in the protagonist’s mental process of becoming a hero has never been realized. When
fought with Dr. Shivana, since the protagonist can transfer his power to the brothers and sisters adopted by his adoptive parents, they are also superheroes. Why not spend more film on them in the first place? A group of people who lacked character portrayals finally appeared as the Seven Deadly Sins Devil released by the Doctor of Heroes War. It felt like a group of dragons suddenly popped out to fight.
The battle between Shazam and Dr. Shiwana is beautiful or beautiful. The venue always changes, and the shots of the flight battle are also great. But I still want to say that it is not exciting enough. What is the reason? I found that in the last main battlefield amusement park, except for the very few people trapped in the cable car, other passers-by had escaped. The mass battles without spectators will naturally look boring. If you change the scene and let the villain control a cruise ship to float to the sky, the lives of thousands of people on it will be in the villain’s mind, so the masses will cheer Shazam from the bottom of their hearts. Everyone is supporting and shouting, and finally defeating the enemy and putting a boat down safely, does it feel thrilling?
