Qin Yi's life photo

Qin Yi, female, born in 1922, Shanghainese, member of the Communist Party of China. Famous actor and artist. In 1938, after graduating from Shanghai Zhonghua Vocational School, he went to Wuhan to participate in anti-Japanese propaganda activities. In the same year, he went to Chongqing and entered the Chinese film studio as an intern actor, and later participated in drama groups such as China Long Live Theatre Company and China Theatre Arts Society. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he returned to Shanghai. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he served as an actor in the Shanghai Film Studio and deputy director of the Shanghai Film Actor Troupe. He was a member of the second to fifth council of the Chinese Film Association, a member of the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and a member of the third, fourth, and fifth CPPCC National Committee. He has won the National Outstanding Communist Party Member, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 18th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival and the Lifetime Honor Award of Shanghai Literary Artist. In August 2019, he was selected as the recommended candidate for the national honorary title.

I am a literary and art worker, but first of all I am a Communist Party member. I have firm belief in the future. In life, whether it is pain or joy, I always embrace my career with enthusiasm. Actor is my lifelong profession; career is a song that I can never sing forever.

does not forget the original intention, acting as ordinary people, serving the audience, and worthy of my own artistic conscience. This is my unremitting pursuit in life and the party membership standard I always abide by. I would like to dedicate to the audience a sincere heart of persevering in the pursuit of art and a simple feeling of love and dedication of a Communist Party member.

A hard journey to follow the road of art

Since I was a teenager, I have embarked on an art path full of hardships but also joy. I have been chasing a beautiful and bright dream.

I grew up in a large feudal family in Shanghai. When I was young, there was a youth propaganda group in Shanghai Nanshi, which was my favorite place to go. At that time, many one-act plays by Comrade Tian Han, such as "Suzhou Night Talk" and "Tragedy on the Lake", were all performed here, and I liked it very much. My father who is engaged in financial work and loves music in his spare time and likes to take me to the movies, the hard-working, kind and dexterous mother, and my elder sister all have a great influence on me. My eldest sister took me to watch the progressive drama "Thunderstorm" performed by the Fudan Drama Club, and also borrowed many books from the library for me to read. There are books by Chinese writers as well as foreign literature and art works of the 18th and 19th centuries. I read everything. Sometimes, I also go to the library to borrow. Reading extensively, this subtle effect is really hard to estimate, because the various influences of literature and art in people’s hearts will inevitably permeate into the minds, consciousness, hobbies, habits, etc. related to the spiritual world of people. In the aspect. Therefore, the literary works that I have read and the progressive dramas I have watched are inseparable from my growth.

Looking back, it was mainly literary works that enriched the monotonous life of my youth. Although it was an indirect life, I felt society and life from the broad perspective of books and movies. Some Chinese and foreign literary works reflect the real life and the lifelike characters, and the waves in the souls of those characters also touched my heart and gave me a pursuit and ideal for a noble life. These literary and artistic works helped and exercised my thinking ability, and gave me a kind of appreciation and judgment in my mind. I gradually understood how to choose and abandon, understood good and evil, love and hate, and even gradually Permeated into myself, forming my own style, temperament, and outlook on life and world.

In 1937, the War of Resistance Against Japan broke out. At that time, I was studying at Zhonghua Vocational Middle School in Nanshi, Shanghai. There were three female classmates of civil engineering who were in my senior year and one of my classmates. Together with me, a total of five classmates joined the school’s Red Cross. backbone. We convened all the students and their families in the school to make army bags, cotton shoes, cotton hats and cotton gloves, and intensively practice field rescue in the spare time. When supporting the warriors of the Xie Jinyuan Division of the "Four Lines Warehouse" in the War of Resistance, I participated in the rescue of the wounded and played a little role. The national disaster was at stake. At the age of 16, I left the family with a few students from Jiaotong University and female students of our school and rushed to Wuhan to participate in anti-Japanese propaganda activities. I started my acting career for nearly 80 years in the wave of anti-Japanese and national salvation. After evacuating to Chongqing, I was fortunate enough to meet two famous directors-Mr. Shi Dongshan and Mr. Ying Yunwei, and under the introduction of Comrade Li Xing, I joined the Chinese film studio theater troupe. It was in 1938. I was young and full of blood. I hated the Japanese militarism's aggression against our country. I have witnessed the Japanese invasion of Shanghai before and after, and how many friends and relatives I knew and knew were killed. I am eager to fight and look forward to the news of victory. I just know i will stand foreverOn the side of the common people and the weak. I sympathize with them because I am one of them. After watching the dramas that describe the War of Resistance against Japan, I have respect and trust for those who are engaged in drama work, and I drive myself to make a choice, that is, to be an actor. The first time I participated in the performance was "Long Live China". Many kind people told me not to be afraid, just work hard. Although it was my first time on stage, I played an out-and-out mass role, but I also had a lot of feelings. Later, he participated in the shooting of some movies such as "Protecting Hometown" and "Good Husband".

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, I participated in the Chinese Theatre Company established by the Southern Bureau of the Communist Party of China. This is a brand new theatre company. From participating in the preparation to the establishment, we all feel that we have endless energy. "Zhongyi" is our home, our position, our weapon of resistance, and our artistic ideal! Although the living conditions at that time were extremely difficult, we still lived Many wonderful times have passed. The script of Comrade Chen Baichen's "Earth Rejuvenation" was completed at this stage. We risked the bombardment of enemy planes to start the drama "Earth Rejuvenation". Mr. Ying Yunwei arranged for me to play one of the main roles in the play, playing Huang Shuhui, the daughter of a national capitalist (played by Comrade Gu). This is a tragic character. During the rehearsal process, Mr. Ying seemed to be satisfied.

I am fortunate to be the basic actor of the Chinese Theatre Company. After "Zhongyi" hit the drama "Rejuvenation of the Earth", it continued to rehearse new plays. I participated in performances of important roles, secondary roles or mass roles. Playing various roles and studying the characteristics of different characters is conducive to laying a good foundation for stage art. I played Hong Luan in "Heavenly Spring and Autumn", the county magistrate in "The Imperial Envoy", the woman in "Lonely Island Xiaojing", Ouyang Xue in "Face Problem", and Mei Kehua in "The Fighting Woman" , The girlfriend in "La Traviata", Mrs. Zhao in "Sorrowful City". We perform so many plays, and we have the opportunity to contact the screenwriters, directors and other comrades who created each play, such as Xia Gong (Xia Yan), Han Lao (Yang Hansheng), Lao She, Guo Moruo, Cao Yu, Shi Linghe, etc. Many old comrades often chat with us, analyze the script, and use their profound knowledge to enrich our understanding of the meaning of the script and creative inspiration, and help us improve ideologically and politically.

"Red Seed" stills

Decades have passed, and it seems to be yesterday, 1939 or 1940 (the time is not clear) during the Spring Festival, one day, one of my photographer colleagues and his wife invited me Go to their house for dinner. Maybe they thought I knew the people at the table, so they didn't introduce me to any stranger at the table. But although I didn’t introduce it, I didn’t seem to be unfamiliar, especially that handsome man with a beard and a pair of sharp eyebrows and big eyes. He talked heartily and chicly, which drove me away from the crowd. Shy who dare not speak on the occasion. He asked me very kindly and naturally. He asked me where do I work? Why did I work at such a young age? I told him that I work in the Shancheng Chorus and now I sing in the choir of the Chinese Film Studio, or I am also part of A superb actor. He smiled and said, "Okay." I disagreeed with his comment. I said, "What's so good about it, it's boring, I'm in it all day long. I want to go to the front line, but I didn't get it. Conditions, now this is purely for food." He asked again: "Then what song are you singing?" I blurted out: "Of course it is a song of the Anti-Japanese War." He laughed loudly and said, "How can this be meaningless? It’s so interesting. Your singing will arouse the enthusiasm of tens of thousands of people. There are countless people who have participated in bloody battles inspired by this singing, but you still feel boring?!" Then he added, "Of course Advanced studies are also a good ideal, and don’t give up.” I looked at him so sincerely and calmly with his big piercing eyes, completely as patient and caring as a teacher to an immature pupil. I started chatting with him freely like an old friend. After that meeting, I thought for a long time, and felt a kind of strength and a kind of faith in my heart. So I went to the colleague who invited me to dinner to find out who this extraordinary friend was? My colleague laughed and said, "He is Mr. Zhou Enlai, you really don't know him?" I suddenly realized it and remembered I have seen his pictures in books or newspapers. After that, Comrade Zhou Enlai taught me and cared about me for decades, and his words were deeply engraved in my heart. Sister Deng Yingchao and he care about me and my familyGetting into the smallest detail is something we will deeply feel for the rest of our lives!

Stills from "Nongjiale"

On October 1, 1949, New China was founded. What could be more exciting for me than this? At the founding ceremony of New China, I attended A day and night parade. At that time, I felt that the best art in the world is the waist drum performance of the New Travel Culture and Culture Troupe. Its majestic scene is like people's open mind, and every drum beat is like a jump of my soul. In July 1949, I learned that a new China film studio was about to be established. In September, the preparatory work officially began, and we all immediately participated in all the activities of the factory. The Shanghai Film Studio was established in November, and the first feature film "Nongjiale" was filmed in December. I played the role of the heroine Laying. In order to make this movie well, I went to the countryside to experience life for the first time after the founding of New China, which also played a profound role in enriching my life in the second half of my life.

insisted on promoting the main theme

. After the liberation, I participated in "Two Springs", "Ma Lanhua Kai", "Moya Dai", "Women's Basketball No. 5", "Song of Youth", "Railway Guerrillas", "Lin Zexu", "Overseas Children" and Filming of "Thunderstorm" and other films.

Stills of "Ma Lanhua Kai"

In 1954, I participated in the filming of "Ma Lanhua Kai" at Changchun Film Studio. I played Ma Lan. The filming conditions for this film are relatively difficult. It took nine months on the infrastructure construction site of the Baocheng Railway. But I really like the work style of this film crew. All the comrades worked hard in unity, vigorously and productively. During the filming of this film, Xia Gong (Comrade Xia Yan) gave a lot of encouragement. At that time, I had been groping for my own acting methods, and getting his affirmation and reminders gave me more confidence.

"Railway Guerrilla" plays Fang Lin's wife

In 1956, I participated in the filming of the film "Railway Guerrilla". In this movie, I played the role of Fang Lin's wife, the family member of a railway employee martyr. The home of this railway employee and his wife Fanglin was a liaison station of the Eighth Route Army guerrillas, covering groups of revolutionary comrades. The director, Comrade Zhao Ming, came to me for shooting, probably because of my health. This role actually has to be a little capable, because she has to listen to the enemy and take care of the food, clothing, shelter and transportation of the guerrillas. The most thrilling time in the whole filming process was the scene where Comrade Cao Huiqu (playing as the captain of the railway guerrilla group) rode a tall horse across the train according to the plot. The director requested that the horse and the train pass at the same time and the same scene. Although Cao Huiqu has practiced horse riding hard, he is not a master of horsemanship after all. Horse riding and train passing by, it is too difficult to shoot superb scenes, most The human will factor must be added. The filming officially started. When the "Captain" rode rushing over, the steed found that the train was coming quickly, and it suddenly stopped, but only a second or two later, it ran past the train again, and the horse's tail was almost lost. The train hit! We closed our eyes when we saw it on the side. Comrade Cao Huiqu was safe and sound. He rode on the horse valiantly and the shot was done very well. Really, the shooting scene is like a battlefield. The artist advocates artistic virtue, and sometimes he has to pay the price of his life. During the filming of

"Railway Guerrillas", there was also a very interesting scene, that is, the scene of throwing a grenade to blow a Japanese officer after watching it. The director asked me to drop the grenade on the heel of the Japanese officer played by Comrade Chen. It was not easy. I was really worried at the time. So, during that period of rehearsal, I stared at the statement every day, especially at his heels, and watched his walking posture. When it was time to start shooting, I stared closely at the heel of the "Japanese officer" and threw it in place from a distance. I threw the "forgot to pull the string" grenade onto his heel precisely and bumped it. One shot was successful! Although it was a very small detail, it was really carefully studied at that time. From this thought, if you can be so focused and serious when creating characters, the characters will definitely be very charming.

In more than 70 years of acting career, I have played more than 70 drama roles and movie roles, many of which are Communist images. In the meantime, the role of Lin Hong in the movie "Song of Youth" left a deep impression on audiences at home and abroad. In May 1959, I joined the Chinese Communist Party. I joined the party in the Shanghai Film Actors Troupe. It has been eighteen years since 1941 when I participated in the revolutionary work in the Chinese Opera Society established by the Southern Bureau of the Party. Why did I hesitate to join the Party for so long? BecauseI deeply understand that joining the party is a belief and a sacred event. I heard that there was a female Communist. The enemy put her child on the bayonet in front of her, and forced her to tell her the party organization. Listening to her child's crying ears, the female party member passed out with heartache, but she was strong and unyielding, and she never revealed the secrets of the party. For more than ten years, I have been asking myself: "It is said that Communist Party members are made of special materials, am I?" It was not until 1959 when I felt that I could face this problem calmly, that I could decide to join. Party organization.

Qin Yi played the role of Lin Hong in the movie "The Song of Youth"

However, what I did not expect was that the first role I received after joining the party was to play a female Communist who deems death at home-the movie Lin Hong in "Song of Youth". At the beginning, because of my relatively fat body condition, I was afraid that it would be difficult to achieve the desired effect in the play, and I was worried about whether to play this role. In the script, although Lin Hong doesn't have many plays, I love such characters very much. This is how I imagined Lin Hong, a Communist Party member in prison. Although she was tortured and weakened by the reactionary rulers, she had a steely will and a beautiful soul full of lofty ideals. At that time, the leading comrades of the Central Film Bureau came to me specifically and said that Lin Hong did not look fat or thin on the surface, but had a temperament. So, I accepted this role, and worked with the entire crew on performance, costumes, lighting, video and other aspects, and then step by step to play the role of Lin Hong. As I go deeper into the life of the character, the more I can understand the idea of the playwright in creating the image of Lin Hong. The whole process of shaping the role of Lin Hong is also my own best learning process and education process. The more clear I am about the role’s mission, the more I feel that as an actor, I am the creator of the image and should be given. What the audience. Until now, I feel that Lin Hong is the most beautiful of the Communists I play. This is not to say that the image is good-looking, but that the characters are erected. It is to impress the audience with spirit and belief, love our revolutionary history, love our party and people. I still remember that when Lin Hong was filming on the set before going to the execution ground, he told the comrades in prison a scene of her husband calmly giving up. As soon as the filming started, the whole set was extremely quiet. I only heard my own voice. After reading the lines, I was once again shocked by the heroic deeds of Lin Hong's husband, and my whole body and mind were integrated into the scene.

For so many years, I have not forgotten the difficult environment in my youth, because this is also the source of strength. When I was very young, I had some knowledge of the cruel scenes of the "April 12" massacre in Shanghai. Later, I participated in the Anti-Japanese War and moved all the way to Chongqing. It may be difficult for young people now to imagine that suffering is actually a person’s wealth. Later when we worked in Chongqing, despite the difficult conditions, we sometimes had to share a cup of tea. Even though I had not joined the Communist Party at that time, I still insisted on going to the show and doing something for the party. Hard work and trials are also a kind of wealth.

During the War of Liberation, I was also responsible for instigating a pilot of the Kuomintang Air Force. It started when the War of Resistance was about to be won and lasted until 1948, because the enemy had to ship gold to Taiwan in batches. The pilot’s wife is a fan of mine, so I use my role as an actor to interact with their family and do work. In fact, it is quite dangerous. Once I was followed by the enemy, I had to shut myself in the closet to escape the search. After the pilot flew to the liberated area in the uprising, I had to quickly transfer the pilot’s family. It happened that the playwright Cao Yu and his family moved to Hong Kong, and the house in Shanghai was vacant. I asked Comrade Cao Yu if he could borrow two friends? He agreed without saying a word. This is the trust and tacit understanding between comrades.

I still remember every Communist Party member I played. Not only Lin Hong in "Song of Youth", I have also played the image of many Communist Party members, such as Hua Xiaofeng in "Red Seed", Zhong Yeping in "The Waves", and Xiao Yuhua in "The Wind and Waves" ,and many more. In fact, these characters have been deeply engraved in my heart. The most memorable is the process of filming the film "The Waves Rolling" in 1965. In this play, I played the image of the first party secretary in the film career, named Zhong Yeping. You know, it is very difficult to be the party secretary of a water conservancy project in peacetime, and to be a female secretary. Water conservancy engineering is too professional. In order to make this movie well, I brought a lot of books overnight. Sometimes I saw three or four in the morning when I read it. The next dayGet up early in the morning to rehearse. Finally, I have a lot of professional terms in my mind, so the acting will be more real. The five years since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China have been an extraordinary five years for the development of my country’s film industry. I am gratified to see that Chinese films have withstood the test, persisted in spreading positive energy, promoted the main theme, and made remarkable achievements.

In recent years, I have written and directed the film "Qinghai Lakeside", which is a film in which I acted as the art director and starred. As early as more than 20 years ago, I was planning to shoot this film. In the 1990s, a director of the Meteorological Bureau of Qinghai Province published a report in the newspaper about the deeds of Chinese and foreign scientists. I was deeply moved by this report, and a thought has been lingering in my mind. Put these real and moving deeds on the movie screen. However, at that time, due to the constraints of the conditions, the auction could not be achieved. What touched me most about this story is the love and kindness in the world. At that time, many scientists took their wives and children to the plateau to build the railway. In the end, due to many accidents, they ended up alone. I think people should not forget them. . Entering the new century, I was thinking about creating this movie script. I have been planning it. What I want to reflect is that in the great project of constructing the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, meteorological experts and engineers from China and foreign countries have worked together to work together in the extremely harsh natural environment. In the environment, in-depth investigations and research have solved the world-wide problem of "frozen soil" that lies in front of major projects, thus ensuring the smooth start of construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

I have never written a script in the past. This time I wrote the script for the movie "Qinghai Lakeside", which became my own time to study again. In order to experience the life of the meteorologists in the script, I have climbed the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau time and time again, where the altitude is as high as 3,500 meters. We visited many scientists and learned some specialized knowledge of railway construction and related meteorological knowledge. I visited Tibetan compatriots, and at the invitation of the host, in their tent, I tasted haggis, tsampa, and drank butter tea, tasted Tibetan life, and asked local people for advice. For more than a month, I wrote word by word at my desk every day until late at night. In the days when I was creative, I could write thousands of words a day. Creating a new script is a good learning opportunity. While I write, I also audition, meticulously scrutinize every role in the play, and carefully consider every scene. As I wrote, I often couldn't help shed tears of excitement. After finishing the first draft of the film "Qinghai Lakeside"

directed by Qin Yi, I made several revisions, pondered and revised repeatedly, before finalizing it. When the filming of "Qinghai Lakeside" started, many old colleagues and young comrades persuaded me that when I was older, it would be difficult to adapt to the climate of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, for fear of severe altitude sickness. They suggested that if you want to shoot a film of the overseas scenery of Qinghai, you can set up the plateau scenery in the studio in Shanghai, and shoot it in the Shanghai Film Studio. But I think this is a true story that took place in Qinghai. It’s impossible not to shoot on the spot. We must be worthy of the audience and worthy of artistic creation. I must go to the plateau; if it’s a casual filming of a movie, then Very boring. Finally, everyone accepted my idea and went to Qinghai to shoot this film together.

In this movie, I starred in Mei Xinyi, a female meteorological engineer who made selfless dedication to her career and ideals. She was under 60 years old, and there was a big gap between me and my age, so I thought about it early at home. The way he walks, the clothes he wears, etc., all work hard to fit the characters in the movie. For example, there is a scene in which Engineer Mei bravely saved a man, accidentally fell down, and rolled down a snow-capped mountain. What kind of posture should I use to fall down. For these details, I think about it in advance, and then discuss with the director and others at the shooting site to ensure the success of the shooting.

As the artistic director and starring role of the film, I tried my best to overcome altitude sickness on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau at an altitude of more than 3,500 meters. I spend about 12 hours on the set every day. I have to play my role well and pay attention to the whole film. The performance and filming process. Some of the more difficult actions, such as running, running, rolling, climbing, etc., I insist on not asking for a stand-in when shooting small scenes, and I will play the role in the play well. I often use the heroic deeds of the revolutionary martyr Liu Hulan to inspire myself, a teenage girl who is not afraid of lying on the enemy’s guillotine. What difficulties can I overcome? There are many revolutionary martyrs for the benefit of the party and the people. , They even dedicated their livesNow, what are some setbacks I encountered? Although the environment on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is difficult, we have carried forward a high degree of professionalism and insisted on using real performances and sincere shooting to impress the audience, inspire everyone, enhance social conscience, and advocate Promote positive energy. At the beginning of this year, higher-level authorities held a national performance and audience meeting for the movie "Qinghai Lakeside" at Shanghai Studios. Thousands of spectators joined me in this grand event. This film won the Best Finalist Award at the 11th China-US Film Festival, and I won the Lifetime Achievement Award as the lead actor. Later, "Qinghai Lakeside" was well received at the 7th Macau International Film Festival and won the finalist award.

I, like everyone else, pay attention to the movies in our country, and film actors cannot stop. I think that 90s should be a calm age. Don't think I am old, I am actually quite open. I really want to tell young people how to view today's life and our great party. When I joined the Party in the late 1950s, I always believed that Communist Party members were made of special materials. If you do not have the courage and determination, it will be difficult for you to stand the test of reality. Even after joining the Communist Party, I often think that after joining the Party, I still have to persist in testing myself. I often ask myself: "Can you do it?" As a Communist Party member, I must have a strong sense of social responsibility. Communists should study frequently and charge frequently. I have subscribed to more than ten newspapers and periodicals and read them every day. When I return home after a busy day, I have to read the newspapers before taking a break. I also like to watch movies and performances often, in order to learn from others' strengths, because I am a film actor, if an actor does not act, he cannot be called an actor. I will continue this work.

My family is not as rich as people might think. I have endured a lot of hardships in my life. My husband Jin Yan, son Jin Jie have been sick for many years, and there is an old sister in the family who needs my care. In order to save money, I learned to inject and give my child the injection myself. I don't want to take a taxi when I go out. However, when the country is in difficulties, as a member of the Communist Party, I have no hesitation. After the Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan, I donated more than 210,000 yuan, which is most of my savings. Later, when an earthquake occurred in Yushu, Qinghai, I donated another 30,000 yuan. In 2009, shortly after I had lumbar spine surgery, I rushed to Dujiangyan to participate in the opening ceremony of the Shanghai-aided primary school despite the doctor's dissuasion. My sick beloved son is gone, there is nothing to worry about. The mother will give the money to the people who need it most, hoping that I can really help the people in the disaster area.

I am willing to participate in public welfare activities because these things are meaningful. Now, although I play fewer and fewer roles, I want to play more and more roles. Participating in various public welfare activities can create conditions for me to get in touch with reality, understand the society, and strengthen my study, so that my elderly feet can keep up with the pace of the times as much as possible. I have participated in activities such as "Love, Pass Here-Welcome Special Olympics, Square Show of True Love", "Pass on the torch, follow the movie-Support the signatures of 10,000 people in the Beijing Olympic Games". In 2010, I served as the blessing ambassador and honorary curator of the Shanghai Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo, China, and did my best for the Shanghai World Expo. When I learned that I was going to make a movie for the kids, I went to the screen again. At the age of 87, he starred in my country's first film "My Strong Boat" reflecting the lives of migrant workers.

A strong country must have firm strength. I'm 96 years old, but I always feel that there is still so much energy in my heart. Maybe I can create some useful things, some good works, and I can do something more. The Party Central Committee systematically plans and comprehensively promotes propaganda, ideological and cultural work, and vigorously builds a socialist cultural power. Maybe I can continue to participate in this process as long as I live. I greeted the victory of the 19th National Congress of the Party with full enthusiasm. I am a literary and art worker, but first of all, a Communist Party member. I have firm belief in the future.
