The play is adapted from the memoir of the same name written by Luo Lili, the daughter of the revolutionary martyr Luo Yunpeng and the "living little carrot head" based on his personal experience. It is a red historical story that truly happened in Lanzhou. That night, the 86-year-old Luo Lili, the prototype of the protagonist in the play, was also invited to watch his "childhood story" in person, and went on stage to shed tears and send messages to the young audience present.
The new version of the red classic children's drama "The Ballad of Soybean" has been scripted since early November 2021. Wang Xiaoying, the former executive vice president and first-level director of the National Theater of China, serves as the artistic director, and the famous director Zhao Yi serves as the screenwriter and director. Lanzhou City Tie Yan, director of the Literary Research Center and second-level screenwriter, serves as screenwriter and planner.
