The Macau Judicial Police learned from intelligence that a criminal gang used the "Blessing Party" method to commit fraud. The Economic Crime Investigation Bureau immediately launched an investigation and successfully targeted five mainland men and women. The gang entered Macau on August 5 and used the form of a gang to identify passers-by on different streets and conduct fraud on the pretext of praying for blessings and eliminating disasters.
html On the afternoon of August 5, officers from the Macau Judicial Police found that the gang defrauded a victim of MOP 600 on Hahuan Street, so they immediately followed up and learned about the situation from the victim. On the evening of the same day, the police arrested the above-mentioned five mainland men and women involved in the case in two hotel rooms in the Central District and brought them back for investigation. They found cash equivalent to approximately 8,000 patacas on their possession.After in-depth investigation, the police found that in addition to defrauding the above-mentioned victims, the five mainland men and women involved also defrauded two other victims in Youhan District and Xinqiao District on the same morning. The police took the initiative to contact the two victims and learned that they had also been defrauded or even robbed in the form of praying for blessings and disaster relief.

The second victim mistakenly believed that the other party said that his daughter would be involved in a traffic accident and that he needed to hand over his belongings to pray for blessings. He handed over a total of about 9,000 yuan in cash in multiple currencies. After returning home, he told his family about the incident and realized that he had been deceived. He immediately reported to the police The case was reported to the police station and later transferred to the Judicial Police for investigation.
The third victim was approached and asked to hand over money to pray for good luck and ward off disasters, but when he became suspicious, he was not deceived and said he had no money. Later, his handbag was forcibly opened and 60 Macau patacas was robbed. Due to fear of not reporting the case, officers from the Macau Judicial Police took the initiative to investigate the matter.
According to the investigation, the five mainland men and women involved in the case were constantly looking for ways to chat with the elderly in parks and markets and divided their work. One pretended to ask the miracle doctor, one falsely claimed that the miracle doctor’s wife could pray for blessings and eliminate disasters, and one pretended to be in an emergency and needed to consult the miracle doctor. The other two people have been keeping watch near the scene.
