This Lamborghini Countach LP 400 S was produced 45 years ago in November 1979. The exterior color is nero (black) and the interior is senape (mustard color). It was originally shipped to a Sea dealer in Rome, from where it was likely sold directly to the United States, eventually arriving in Florida. Since the owner of the car was a friend of the film director, this Countach began its legendary journey and occupied a place in American history.
Due to shooting needs, the car was equipped with a front wing, two full-beam headlights, a spoiler, three antennas and 12 exhaust pipes. Two prop instrument panels were added in front of the passenger seat.
After filming concluded, the Countach was returned to its original owner, but its unique modifications for the film were retained.
In 2009, this car found a new owner - jeff ippoliti, a car enthusiast from New York who now lives in Florida. As a child, watching the opening scene of the film in 1981, he never imagined that he would one day own the same dream vehicle that appeared on screen. “I’ve always been obsessed with cars,” recalls Ippoliti: “but the opening of the film was the first time I saw and heard the dynamics of a countach, and I was completely mesmerized! It wasn’t until twenty-six years later that I saw it for the first time. After seeing it in person and after eighteen months of negotiation, I managed to bring it home."
Adrienne Barbeau and Tara Buckman did not reunite after co-starring in the 1981 film. The interviews and descriptions are of great significance. The Countach they were driving served as the backdrop for the interview, which made it all the more fascinating. As the memories came back, they said the two had never seen or driven a Lamborghini before. It should be pointed out that at that time, Lamborghini only produced more than 50 vehicles per year.
