According to Microsoft’s official announcement, the company is accelerating the elimination of its Technet and MSDN platforms and plans to change the TechNet Wiki to read-only mode on December 5, 2023. MVP and board member Ronen Ariely has been notified by the community that he will cease using the TechNet Wiki and shut down the platform.
stated in Microsoft's official announcement that the Technet Wiki will switch to read-only mode on the same day. Users can still access the content, but cannot edit, add, or update new information. However, Microsoft is working on backing up some English articles and recommends users to use web archives to save documents they want to keep.
In the meantime, other contributors who have published on TechNet should also log in and back up their work as soon as possible. Microsoft TechNet is a service for IT professionals that provides technical information and software downloads related to the company's products, similar to the Microsoft Developer Network (MDN) service for developers.
In September this year, Microsoft announced that it would migrate the Msdn library and TechNet library to docs.microsoft.com and completed the migration this year. These libraries initially provided documentation, sample code, and technical articles for Microsoft products on CD and later online with the launch of MSDN and TechNet websites.
