The 2019 Hong Kong Theme Film Exhibition is the first major cultural event held in a major mainland city after the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government participated in the Shanghai World Expo in 2010 . The film exhibition is based on the connection of "master and apprentice inheritance, predecessors and descendants". It focuses on the long-standing master and apprentice heritage culture of the Hong Kong film industry, and selects multiple groups of outstanding master and apprentice directors, choreographers, photography and soundtrack composers in Hong Kong film industry. Works from different eras show the relay and inheritance of Hong Kong film styles and genres and the origin of the "Hong Kong Film" brand, providing a platform for artistic exchanges between Shanghai and Hong Kong, and conveying the spirit of "Shanghai and Hong Kong".
