Toho , the company behind the creation of Godzilla, has announced a new movie starring King of the Monsters, set to hit theaters on November 3, 2023.
The announcement was part of Godzilla Day 2022, where the official Godzilla Twitter account shared the logo for the new movie.
Takashi Yamazaki will direct the new Godzilla. The filmmaker previously directed "Lupin the Third: Part One," "Pareste Parts 1 and 2," and "Dragon Quest: Your Story." This will be Yamazaki's first time directing a Godzilla movie.

This new movie marks Toho's first Godzilla movie since 2016's Neo Godzilla . In our Shin Godzilla review, we said the film "provides a new origin for the legendary monster, establishing its own unique style while drawing inspiration from the canon in the right way. Untitled 2023 The year Godzilla movie marks the 33rd Toho Godzilla movie and the 37th Godzilla movie.
On the US side, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are working on the 2021 Godzilla The MonsterVerse sequel to King Kong . The sequel will see Godzilla and King Kong teaming up to fight a "great undiscovered threat lurking in our world."
