The 5th Taichung International Animation Film Festival opened today. The five domestic and foreign filmmakers who served as the final judges of the competition include Max Hattler and Haimen Cuomo (the focus of this year). Max Heidler visited Taiwan for the first time and served as a judge. In addition to the film screening, there will also be a director’s lecture and a live performance. director Gite Pauldis came from a long way from Latvia. He spent three and a half years to complete this work alone. The film describes the story of a boy embarking on a journey alone. The director said that the film is like he is creating it. In the process of the film, there is a huge giant always chasing the protagonist, just like there is always a lot of pressure to chase him in the process of making an animation, but now the work is finally completed and it is being screened all over the world. This year's film festival will be extended to 10 days for the first time. A total of 176 films will be screened from October 11th to 20th. On the 12th, there will be a master lecture by the focus director Max Heidler, a "children's jury" activity of the short film competition, and on the 13th, there will be a live performance on the "Music and Sound" dialogue Lectures, live music video performances by Max Heidler and a master lecture by another focal director, Haymon Cuomo. The awards ceremony of the International Short Film Contest will be staged on the 16th. Cai Cande will be the host to announce the winners.
