At the Sotheby's Hong Kong Magnificent Jewelry Auction held last Friday, two heart-shaped colored diamond rings were sold for a total of $18.6 million (approximately HK$145 million), exceeding the previous highest estimate. In the previous warm-up, Sotheby's tried to promote the two rings as a "pair", and got a good response. The
blue diamond weighs 5.04ct, the color reaches the fancy vivid blue level, the clarity is VS2, and it is set on a platinum ring. The ring's transaction price reached 10.5 million US dollars (about 81.8 million Hong Kong dollars).
Another pink diamond weighs 4.49ct, the color is fancy vivid pink, the clarity reaches IF, and it is set on an 18K white gold ring. The transaction price is 8.1 million US dollars (about 63 million Hong Kong dollars).
Since the buyer has not disclosed his name, it is still unknown whether the buyer is one or more people.
Another bead chain made up of 37 imperial green jadeites (pictured above) was unveiled in the final stage of the auction and sold for 10.4 million US dollars (about 80.6 million Hong Kong dollars).
In addition, a bracelet (pictured above) worn by Princess Margaret (1930-2002, Queen Elizabeth II’s sister) sold for US$210,000 (approximately HK$1.62 million), which is an estimated price 3 times. This is made by London jeweler Gerrard using gold and silver, and is inlaid with rose-cut diamonds.
A total of 202 products appeared in this auction, with a transaction rate of 80% and a total transaction price of US$56.4 million.
It should be noted that the performance of white diamond products in this auction is not ideal. Among them are two heart-shaped diamonds with 10.51ct, D color and FL clarity. Previously, the estimated price of this pair of diamonds was $1.8-2 million.
