Chinese table tennis has an extraordinary dominance in the world, but due to too much domestic competition pressure, many table tennis players have chosen to join the national team of other countries for better development. Today I want to talk about Li Jiawei, a Singaporean Chinese who is one of the world's top table tennis players.
Although Li Jiawei, born on August 9, 1981, is the “first sister” of table tennis in Singapore, she is a native of Beijing. She started to practice table tennis at the age of 6 and then entered Beijing Shichahai Sports School. When she was 13 years old, she was selected by the Singapore national team.
When she was 15 years old in 1996, she immigrated and became a Singaporean citizen. After coming to Singapore, she went through various difficulties and finally secured her position as the main force in the national team. In the 2004 Athens Olympics, she defeated Wang Nan and won the fourth place in the event. Dry, in 2005 in the ITTF rankings ranked third in women's singles. At the same time, under the leadership of Li Jiawei, the Singapore team has repeatedly achieved great results. With her excellent strength and solid skills since childhood, Li Jiawei quickly grew into the first sister of Singapore female table tennis.
At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Li Jiawei also attended the opening ceremony as the flag bearer of the Singapore delegation, and led the team to win the runner-up of the Olympic women's table tennis team, creating the best result of Singapore table tennis.
Outside the arena, Li Jiawei's emotional life is also the focus of the fans. In 2002, she was with Susino, a Singaporean men's table tennis player, and eventually lived together. However, after living together for 5 years, the two eventually broke up. The once-enviable couple went to court because of the division of property and eventually separated.
But luckily, she met her current husband Li Chao when she returned to Beijing to recuperate. On April 5, 2009, Li Jiawei held a grand wedding with her lover Li Chao at the Beijing Hotel. The Beijing girl who left her hometown and went to Singapore alone at the age of 13 also officially entered the palace of marriage with her lover. Later, the two became happy with their son and named Li Tianrui, because the child is a cow, and the nickname is "Niu Niu".
