According to the Hong Kong China Assessment Service, Ma Ying-jeou attended the memorial service of the former "President" Hao Bocun in the morning. For Hao Bocun’s life, he used different angles to count his contributions, especially Hao Bocun was concerned about cross-strait peace and Taiwan’s security during his lifetime. For the sake of political gain, the party authorities abandoned the 1992 consensus, undermined cross-strait relations, and disregarded the safety of the people. Hao Baicun’s insights contrasted with the ugliness of selfish politicians.
Ma Ying-jeou said that Zhao Shaokang, the host of the memorial service, said that Hao Bocun’s wonderful life is like an epic. He totally agreed, especially in 1993 when Hao Bocun shouted against "Taiwan independence" in Taipei’s Zhongshan Tower, it was even more memorable.
Hao Baicun passed away on March 30, enjoying his 101st birthday. In the morning, a memorial service was held in the Central District on the second floor of the Taipei City Hall. All the former chairman of the Nationalist Party and were present to remember Hao Bai Village.
Ma Ying-jeou said at the memorial meeting that Hao Baicun’s tenure was the stage of "constitutional reform" and the greatest changes in cross-strait relations. Amend provisions, regulations on cross-strait relations between people, and establish a "National Unification Committee", the Mainland Affairs Council and the Straits Foundation.
Ma Ying-jeou mentioned that Hao Bocun is concerned about cross-strait peace and Taiwan’s security. Hao Bocun pointed out that the peaceful development of cross-strait relations is based on the 1992 consensus. The DPP said that the 1992 consensus does not exist because it could not find a written agreement. This is ignorant. The sophistry of the facts, the 1992 consensus is not easy to come by, is at stake for the people's misfortune and happiness, and is worth cherishing.
He also said that the situation in the Taiwan Strait has been tense recently. The "rulers" have abandoned the 1992 consensus for political interests, undermined cross-strait relations, and disregarded the safety of the people. Hao Baicun's insights contrasted with the ugliness of selfish politicians.
