Chen Musheng was born in Hong Kong on October 7, 1961. In the 1980s, he joined the Hong Kong Radio Television Station. In 1983, he became the assistant director of Du Qifeng . In 1990, he directed his first film "If the Sky is Love".
After 1997, Chen Musheng devoted himself to the film industry. His representative works include "Special Police New Human" (1999), "Two Heroes" (2003), "New Police Story" (2004), "Sanchakou" (2005), "Keep Talking" " (2008), "Sweeping Drugs" (2013), etc. He was nominated for Best Director at the Hong Kong Film Awards five times before his death.
The last work he directed was "Anger" starring Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse. The film was finished at the end of last year. He felt unwell during the filming, and then went for a checkup. Unfortunately, it was found that he was suffering from the terminal stage of nasopharyngeal cancer. By the time the filming was completed, he was unable to do the post-production, and he was handed over to others to continue working.
