Former Chief Executive of Taiwan, Hao Baicun, , died of multiple organ failure due to a stroke. He died at Taiwan’s General Hospital of the Armed Forces at 2:47 pm on the 30th. He lived at the age of 101.
The 100-year-old life of former Dean Hao has witnessed many important moments in the development of the Chinese nation on both sides of the strait in the past 100 years.
Hao Baicun was born on August 8, 1919 in Yancheng County, Jiangsu Province. He attended a military school since he was a child. In 1949, he went to Taiwan with the Kuomintang army. Hao Baicun has held a number of important positions in the military, establishing the image of the outside world as he holds military power.
In 1990, the then leader of Taiwan announced that Hao Baicun was transferred from the military chief to the president of the executive to remove Hao’s military power. Hao was known for his tough style during the tenure of the executive. He resigned from the post of President of the Executive Yuan.
In 1995, he withdrew from the Kuomintang and participated in the election of Taiwan’s deputy leader with Lin Yanggang as a non-party status. After the defeat, he faded out of politics, but he still had influence in the military system. In his later years, Mr. Hao Bocun, at the age of 90, went to the battlefields of the Anti-Japanese War on the mainland many times and visited the anti-Japanese relics. In order to let the wife who died first go to the land for safety, at the suggestion of her children, she originally wanted to be buried in Haobo Village, Xiaojinmen, but agreed to choose Wuzhishan Military Demonstration Cemetery .
