Hao Baicun, a 100-year-old former "Chief of Staff" of Taiwan's military, was sent to a doctor due to unwellness. Hao Baicun participated in the War of Resistance Against Japan in the early years. In the 1980s and 1990s, he held important positions in the political arena of Taiwan and the Taiwan military. He served as a general and also became the "Chief of the Executive Yuan." Perhaps only he and Chiang Kai-shek Chen Cheng is a confidant.
"I don't talk about opposing'Taiwan independence', I only eliminate'Taiwan independence'!" Hao Baicun's firm position was praised by mainland netizens. Knowing that he was sick, everyone also offered their blessings in the past two days.

has been to Taiwan for nearly 70 years, Hao Baicun still has a strong local accent. His hometown is Haorong Village, Shangzhuang Town, Yandu District, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. Most of the villagers in this village are named Hao, who was born here on August 8, 1919.
After graduating from junior high school in Hao Baicun, due to his poor family background, he gave up the opportunity to go to high school and was admitted to the Army Officer School, which did not need to pay any fees, and thus forged an indissoluble bond with the barracks. In 1938, the year after the Anti-Japanese War broke out, he entered Hunan Lingling Artillery School to learn artillery techniques aided by the Soviet Union. This time, there was a whole lot of Jiazi in his hometown, and he didn't have a chance to return home. After studying at the artillery school of Hao Bai Village, he was stationed in Shaoyang, Hunan and Xing'an, Guangxi. When talking about this experience, Hao Baicun once said, "I have a sense of historical mission. I served as a small company commander during the War of Resistance." In his view, from the standpoint of the Chinese nation, World War II actually started. The "July 7 Incident" in 1937.
On September 23, 2005, on the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Anti-Fascist War, Hao Baicun, a veteran of the War of Resistance Against Japan, was also invited to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and was awarded a medal.
Hao Baicun returned to the mainland to "return to the anti-Japanese battlefield"
2017 was the 80th year since the "July 7 Incident" broke out. He was 98 years old and led a number of retired generals Taiwan to "return to the anti-Japanese battlefield." Visit to the old site of the Battle of Nanjing, Battle of Xuzhou, and relive those prosperous years. In July of that year, when Hao Baicun attended a seminar on the history of the war of resistance against Japan in Nanjing, he said that the people of Taiwan and were the biggest “beneficiaries” of the war against Japan, because the people of Taiwan and were able to be masters of their own affairs today, progress and prosper. It is closely related to the victory of the War of Resistance, so he opposes the statement that , Taiwan, and have nothing to do with the war of resistance.
and Lee Tenghui struggled for several years.
At the end of 1948, Hao Bocun became Chiang Kai-shek's attendant. After he went to Taiwan, he served as chief instructor and colonel commander in the artillery school. After the "August Two and Three Artillery Battle" broke out in 1958, he served as a field commander, defending Xiaojinmen, and was later promoted to deputy commander of the Kinmen Defense Department.
.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Hao Baicun was even more steadfast in the Taiwan military, serving as "Deputy Chief of Staff", "Commander in Chief of the Army", and "Chief of Staff". In 1981 he was promoted to a first-level general. Five years later, he even successfully "entered the permanent standing" and became the only professional soldier in the KMT Central Standing Committee.
"Chief of Staff" holds real power in the Taiwan military. According to regulations, the post has a two-year term of , and he has been re-elected for 4 terms and 8 years. After Chiang Ching-kuo's death, Lee Teng-hui, his successor, regarded him as a "nail in the eye", and they also started fighting for several years.
Li Denghui, who has a "political actuary", first put Hao Bocun in the position of "Minister of Defense", playing a play of rising and falling. In the Taiwan military, the "Minister of Defense" only presides over the daily military affairs of the authorities, and is far less important than the "Chief of Staff" who directly directs military operations. The personnel arrangement of Lee Teng-hui is equivalent to the removal of the military power of this "strong man in the army."
Although Lee Teng-hui's struggles are all within the party, he cleverly uses external forces to participate in internal struggles. The two magic weapons cited are the Democratic Progressive Party and the populist wave in society. Another move of Lee Teng-hui is to "promote" Hao Bocun to "President of the Executive Yuan." It is very rare for a soldier to serve as the "Chief of the Executive Yuan" in , Taiwan and . Hao also immediately became a target for the "in the wild" camp, and various attacks swept through. In the endless "criticism", his aura and reputation disappeared bit by bit, until he finally resigned.
In the 1996 "General Election", the 77-year-old Hao Baicun went into battle with Lin Yanggang and won 16100,000 votes failed to prevent Lee Teng-hui from running for re-election. In the struggle of "Li Hao" for several years, this experienced veteran was ultimately no match for a cunning politician.
lamented that the mainland has changed too much.
Hao Baicun has a distinctive label on him, which is to oppose "Taiwan independence." Someone in the Democratic Progressive Party once described him as "like a bull in a bullfighting ring. As long as the red cloth of "Taiwan independence" is displayed, he will rush over desperately." In October 1991, when the DPP wanted to include " Taiwan independence" in the party platform, Hao Baicun, who was the "President of the Executive Yuan," insisted on "handling it in accordance with the law" and even proposed to dissolve the DPP. For this reason, Hao Baicun became a thorn in the eye of the "Taiwan independence" forces at that time.
In January 1993, under the siege of opposition forces within the Democratic Progressive Party and the Kuomintang, Hao Baicun resigned after chanting "eliminate Taiwan independence." This scene shocked the island community.
Hao Baicun came to the mainland to participate in a seminar last year. In an interview with the media, he reiterated, "I don't talk about anti-Taiwan independence, I only eliminate Taiwan independence!" He asserted that "Taiwan independence" is absolutely a dead end and insisted on the "92 Consensus". "This is the only way for and Taiwan to survive and develop.
Hao Bo village visited the mainland.
In Hao Bo village’s term of "President", the relationship between the two sides of the strait has entered a period of transformation, the "National Unification Program" was promulgated and the national Unification Committee was launched, and the Mainland Affairs Commission and the Sea Foundation were established. The holding of the 92nd Hong Kong talks were all major events that occurred during this period. According to Taiwan media reports, Hao Bocun also led the formulation of a plan to recover the Diaoyu Islands by force in 1990, the "Hanjiang Plan". However, because of Lee Teng-hui's stop, the whole plan failed, and many Chinese people still feel embarrassed. Hao Baicun and his son, the former mayor of Taipei Hao Longbin
faded out of politics. In April 1999, Hao Baicun went to his hometown in Jiangsu with his wife Guo Guanhua and his son Hao Longbin to worship their ancestors. This was his first return home after 61 years of leaving his hometown. Since then, Hao Baicun has often traveled between the two sides of the strait. He sighed when he visited Yangzhou a few years ago, "You can feel the vitality and vitality of this city when you step into Yangzhou. The mainland is changing so fast, it can be said that it is different every day!"
