This movie tells the story of a dye workshop owner Yang Jinshan who cannot bear children, his wife and nephew. Yang Jinshan is a man with a lack of reproductive function. Suffering from his incompetence, he once married two wives, and vented his anger and desire on them, and tortured them alive. Later, he was not reconciled, and spent a lot of money to buy a young daughter-in-law, that is, Judou, played by Gong Li.
After Judou got married, she had to endure Yang Jinshan's inhuman torture every day, bundled and beaten, and scalded her sensitive parts with a pipe. Ju Dou was tortured every day. And Yang Tianqing, a nephew who lives with Yang Jinshan, saw Ju Dou being tortured like this. As a single dog, he sympathized with Ju Dou. So one day while his uncle was out, Yang Tianqing secretly went over to care about Ju Dou. Then it got together.
So, Judou endured Yang Jinshan's torture every day, and she had a private meeting with Yang Tianqing. This was her only motivation to live. After a long time, Yang Tianqing directly enlarged Judou’s belly. After giving birth to his son Tianbai, Yang Jinshan thought it was his child at first. Later, he became ill and paralyzed. Yang Tianqing and Judou got together without anyone else. I knew I was green.

It can be said that this movie has no winners from beginning to end. Everyone in it has something to hate, but there is also a pitiful place. Yang Jinshan abused women all his life, but in the end he fell ill and paralyzed and drowned; Ju Dou and Yang Tianqing ignored their ethical affiliation and tortured their uncles. In the end, their wives broke up and died. After watching "Ju Dou", it really subverted my cognition, and it didn't get over for a long time.
