In the Malacca area in the 1930s, the little Nyonya Tianlan was sold as a servant to a wealthy family. Because of her humble status, she suffered a lot. She was taken over by her master and gave birth to her daughter Juxiang. Because they were the children of the next generation, everyone looked down on Juxiang. The master didn't care about their mother and daughter, and his wife could not tolerate them.
Juxiang became deaf and mute when she was very sick, but she became very beautiful when she grew up. She was arranged by her wife to marry someone she didn't like. After Juxiang resisted the escaped marriage, she met Yosuke Yamamoto. The two married in love and gave birth to their daughter Yueniang. But in the war, both Juxiang and Yosuke died.
The eight-year-old Yueniang took her mother's relics back to the declining grandfather's house. Grandma Tianlan was very excited when she saw her. Later, Yueniang and her grandmother depended on each other, and her grandmother taught Yueniang to learn traditional Nyonya cooking and female workers. Yueniang is talented and intelligent, and she does better than her grandmother.
When she grows up, Yueniang looks exactly the same as her mother Juxiang. The children of wealthy families, the new generation of gentlemen and handsome lawyers are attracted to her. But Yueniang's love road was very bumpy, and the wife and young lady at home bullied her. But Yueniang was not afraid of them at all, she became stronger after missing her beloved Chen Xi.
