90 years of vicissitudes condensed into 13 minutes 'Wu Dak's House' micro-film premiere - Lujuba

Steep roofs, towering chimneys, rough walls, scattered dormer windows... No. 129, Panyu Road, once Wudak’s largest home in Shanghai, is now the location of the Wudak Memorial Hall. Every day, countless citizens and tourists come here, trying to capture the designer's breath from the upright lines of this Tudor-style villa in the English countryside and understand the life of Wudak.

Yesterday, the micro-film "The House of Wudak" (pictured above), produced by the Wudak Cultural Development Center of Changning District, partially funded by the Xinhua Community Foundation of Changning District, Shanghai, and supported by the materials provided by the Wudak Memorial Hall (pictured above), completed its first edition at the Xinhua Community Cultural Activity Center. One screening. In 13 minutes, inside and out, up and down, people can follow the footage of "Home of Wudak" to learn about the unusual Shanghai legend of Wudak and the past stories of this famous historical building.

The birth of a micro film requires effort and time, but it is not "micro" at all. It is not easy to tell the vicissitudes of this building to the greatest extent, and to be different from previous documentaries and feature films. The changes in the city in the past 90 years have left Wudak’s old residence hidden among the surrounding buildings. There is very little space for entanglement, and the difficulty of shooting outdoor scenes is not small, but this shooting coincides with the large-scale renovation of other buildings in the south and southwest. Various storage yards and noise caused difficulties in shooting. Although these factors will affect the perfection of some shots, they also objectively record the changes in this historical building and its surroundings at this time.

From now on, the micro-film "The House of Wudak" will be played on a rolling basis at the Wudak Memorial Hall. Friends who visit the Wudak Memorial Hall can learn about the past and present of the former residence of Wudak.
