Red Star News reporters learned today (18th) that Stephen Chow’s dubbing actor Shi Banyu died in Beijing due to illness on September 17 at the age of 66.

At around 8 o'clock tonight, Stephen Chow posted a photo of Shi Banyu through his personal social platform with the text "I will always miss Mr. Shi Banyu."

Before Stephen Chow posted, Shi Banyu’s circle of friends also sent a message: “Dear old friends and new friends, I am anxious to go to another world to open a recording studio, so I won’t play with you for now! Bye, I’ll go first! Ha! ~Ha~ha~ha~"

Shi Banyu, formerly known as Shi Renmao, nicknamed Grouper, began to engage in dubbing work in 1983. He is also famous for dubbing Stephen Chow in movies, and is therefore known and loved by the majority of movie fans.

Shi Banyu's representative dubbing works include "The Gambler", "Jidao Academy", "Young and Dangerous", etc. He dubbed Stephen Chow for the first time in the movie "The Gambler" in 1990. Stephen Chow's nonsensical acting skills matched Shi Banyu's exaggerated voice, thus becoming Stephen Chow's royal voice. Shi Banyu created Xingye's signature laugh.
