It uses Baoyuanli in Hankou as the story stage and revolves around the historical moments of the river city Wuhan in the 1930s. Baoyuanli, built in 1912, is a very representative Laolifen in Hankou. It has a history of 112 years and is the only existing Lifen building with the prefix "Bao" in Wuhan. In recent years, Wuhan City has continued to promote urban renewal in the old city of Hankou Historic District, and Baoyuanli was officially renovated and opened in February this year.

"Baoyuan Fengyun" uses history as the blueprint for the script, Baoyuanli as the story stage, and revolves around the historical period of Wuhan, a river city in the 1930s. The play uses a "Jiangcheng Military Defense Map" as a clue to present a grand narrative about the feelings of family and country, love and hatred. Because of this key map, the three parties gathered in Baoyuanli and launched a thrilling contest.
