The dance poetry drama "How to Meet Again" cleverly integrates the romantic imagination and literary charm in Shimo's poems with surreal changes, constructing a stage with the poetic spirit of Jiangnan characteristics, depicting the delicate and gentle Jiangnan, reflecting the love, beauty, The pursuit of the common ideal of freedom, and the yearning for beauty rooted in the Chinese context and blood.
Based on the traditional dance drama, the play amplifies the theme of "poetry" and fully adapts to the audience's pursuit of "dreaming in the theater". It uses the "small but beautiful" Jiangnan prose poem structure to meet contemporary young people's desire for relaxation and romance. Spiritual preferences.
In terms of character design, the editor-in-chief Mao Weiwei and Wu Shuo did not focus on specific historical figures. Instead, they created the main character "Mo" from Zhimo's poems, the incarnation of An Lanyuan "Lan", and the place name from Haining. "Ning" and other characters, the whole performance blends the characters with the dance scenes, weakening the narrative and emphasizing the interpretation of "emotion".
In terms of the structure of the play, Xu Zhimo's important poems are used as the main thread of the whole play, starting from "Dream on the Seaside" and ending with "Light of Beauty", integrating into "Farewell Cambridge", "The Joy of Snowflakes" and "I Don't Know the Wind". "In which direction is it blowing?" and other poems, which begin and end with waves, highlight the romance and freedom of the protagonist "mo" coming from the sea and going back from the sea, highlighting the freehand color of the play.
In terms of stage presentation, "How to Meet" pursues poetic effects, integrating and infiltrating stage drama and poetry. Whether it is lighting, multimedia design or costume modeling, it emphasizes the characteristics of "romantic and ethereal", and the entire play is full of visuals. Poetic.
The play is jointly produced by China Oriental Performing Arts Group Co., Ltd., Haining Cultural Tourism Creative Industry Holdings Co., Ltd., CCTV International Network Co., Ltd., and Nanhu Red Boat Co., Ltd., and is co-performed by China Oriental Song and Dance Troupe and Wuhan Post Art Troupe.
