Qian Tao (born in 1985) is a well-known Hong Kong investor, entrepreneur and alternative investment manager. He is famous for founding and serving as the CEO and chief investment officer (CIO) of Infini Capital, and for founding the Hong Kong Golden Bulls Basketball Club.
Career
Qian Tao founded Wuji Capital in 2015. He managed his own capital in the early stage and has now developed into a well-known alternative investment management company. He began his career in investment banking, working in the mergers and acquisitions departments of Morgan Stanley and HSBC Hong Kong. Before founding Wuji Capital, Qian Tao was a partner at gcs capital, a Hong Kong private equity firm focusing on M&A and restructuring opportunities in the Asian financial industry. In addition to his work at Wuji Capital, Qian Tao also actively invests in many fields including technology, real estate, sports, etc.
Basketball career
Qian Tao is the founder of the Hong Kong Golden Bulls team, which was established in June 2023. The Hong Kong Golden Bulls are the first and currently the only professional basketball team in Hong Kong to participate in the National Basketball League. Qian Tao also serves as the permanent honorary president of the Hong Kong Basketball Association.
Personal life
Qian Tao was born in Shanghai and grew up in Hong Kong. He attended Jiangsu-Zhejiang Elementary School and St. Stephen's College, and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Qian Tao is married and has a daughter. During the covid-19 epidemic, Qian Tao and his family moved from Hong Kong to Taiwan Province.
