On the evening of June 13, the Yunnan Provincial Lantern Theater from Caiyunnan performed a wonderful lantern drama "Peacock Princess 2024" for the Shanghai audience at the Shanghai Tianchan Yifu Stage, a professional theater within the "World of Performing Arts" . In June 2008, "Yunnan Huadeng Opera" was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage by the State Council, and the Yunnan Huadeng Theater was a protected unit.
The story of the Peacock Princess, which symbolizes peace and happiness, is no longer sleeping in the Beiye Sutra of the Dai people. It has been engraved in the hearts of the Dai people for generations with the inheritance of Zhangha artists of the Dai people. Today, it is also represented by Yunnan lanterns - —This unique performance form is presented in the hot land of Shanghai. The mythical storyline, plump characters, beautiful Dai costumes, and superb performances by the actors deeply moved the audience. In particular, the audience of overseas students from Fudan University said that through watching the drama, they had a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture. The image of "Zhang Ha", which represents the intangible cultural heritage phenomenon of the Dai people, is very charming and has become one of the highlights of the play. After the performance, the audience was reluctant to leave for a long time and stood in front of the stage waving to the actors.
Just as the charm of drama always lies in the changes and innovations that keep pace with the times, breaking the convention and integrating traditional Zhangha rap with lanterns has given the lantern drama "Peacock Princess 2024", a once classic drama, a new charm and attracted the audience It was refreshing to have a better understanding of Yunnan lanterns, and they were full of longing for the beauty and magic of the South of Colorful Clouds.
