Characters such as Ma Kui and Wang Xin interpret the spirit of the Chinese people and how our beautiful qualities continue to shine in the modern environment. These characters are actually from the small self to the big self. The stories of Ma Kui and Wang Xin are all manifestations of the big self spirit. Ma Kui goes to work, and every time the train encounters a sheepherder, he will throw down some food. Ma Kui left, and Wang Xin continued to do this. The audience was in the warmest place, and their hearts were pricked by the screenwriter. And what does screenwriter Gao Mantang want to achieve?
I think that Gao Mantang is not the same as Ma Kui. He is passing on and inheriting the spirit of us Chinese through storytelling. I really don’t want to say it. The Magnolia Award for Best Actor must definitely go to a real leading actor. What about the best actress?
The three heroines of "Flowers" are all very outstanding. Tang Yan, Xin Zhilei and Ma Yili are all outstanding. This drama deserves the distinction of having three female leads, equally equal. In the end, it was Tang Yan who was nominated, which may have something to do with Tang Yan's "ugly" appearance in the play. If this drama were nominated for Best Actress by Xin Zhilei, I think her fighting power would be even stronger. Xin Zhilei, an actress, has a strong aura.
