was born in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province in 1935. In 1949, he was admitted to the Shanghai Institute of Humanities and Art to study acting. In 1956, he was transferred from Shanghai People's Art Theater to the Central Experimental Theater. He has created nearly a hundred characters in dramas and film and television dramas. His main works include: dramas "One Servant, Two Masters", "Peach Blossom Fan", "Fen River", movies "Legend of Tianyun Mountain", "Legend of the Eight Immortals", TV series "Red Rock", "Beijing Police Squad", "The Last 99 Days", etc.
