This year marks the 126th anniversary of the founding of Peking University and the 105th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement. Through the stage, we can meet those revolutionary pioneers in their prime a century ago, witness the birth of new youth, and allow Peking University students to witness the struggles of their ancestors for their ideals, and become even more excited. I truly felt that magnificent history and inspired people's patriotism and national pride. This time the musical "Age of Awakening" entered Peking University, it was not only a feast of stage art, but also a profound review and tribute to history. This kind of spiritual dialogue and ideological shock that spanned time and space made everyone present Everyone was deeply touched.

The musical "The Age of Awakening" is adapted from the phenomenal TV series "The Age of Awakening". It describes the magnificent historical period from the New Culture Movement to the founding of the Communist Party of China. The revolutionary predecessors saved the nation from extinction, pursued the truth, and turned from darkness to light. After two years of careful polishing, the musical "Age of Awakening" premiered on April 28, 2023. In order to keep improving the stage presentation, the creative team has deeply polished and improved the performance, and comprehensively upgraded the content, music, and stage design. It will reopen on April 26, 2024 and has performed 50 times so far. The repertoire adopts a sung-through musical artistic method to express itself. Thirty original pieces of soul-stirring music are used throughout. The stage design uses multimedia means combined with changing stage scenes to vividly reproduce the revolutionary pioneers breaking through the darkness and seeking for the future. After the performance at Peking University, the musical "Age of Awakening" will embark on a nationwide tour.
