The time and location of the tornado was around 15:00 on April 27, 2024, Liangtian Village, Zhongluotan Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou Nearby (the junction of Baiyun District and Huadu District), the Liangtian Village Weather Station, about 2.8 kilometers away from the tornado site, recorded a maximum gust of 20.6 meters/second (level 8).

Around 15:05, the Guangzhou Meteorological Bureau and the Baiyun District Meteorological Bureau received reports from netizens about a tornado near Zhongluotan Town. After learning this information, the Baiyun District Meteorological Bureau immediately sent staff to Zhongluotan Town to jointly conduct on-site investigations with the Baiyun District Emergency Management Bureau.

At 15:30, the Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Bureau has organized an expert team from the Foshan Tornado Research Center, the Provincial Meteorological Observatory and the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau to go to the scene for disaster investigation.
