On the evening of March 15, CCTV’s 315 Gala named a Tinghua wine priced at NT$58,600, saying that the advertisement for the wine violated the advertising law, and that it had an international patent was not true. Nandu reporters noticed that many e-commerce platforms subsequently removed Tinghuajiu-related products from their shelves. The person in charge of a Tinghua Wine Experience Center in Yantai, Shandong Province said that due to being named, the store will be closed tomorrow.

According to CCTV’s 315 Party report, starting from 2020, Tinghua Liquor, which is known as “high-end business liquor”, has frequently appeared in the consumer market, with a standard bottle priced at 5,860 yuan and a premium bottle priced at 58,600 yuan. Advertisements for this wine claim to have the effects of boosting immunity, improving sleep, ensuring male erectile function, regulating physiological disorders, and anti-aging. However, the Advertising Law clearly stipulates that alcoholic beverage advertisements shall not expressly or imply that drinking alcohol can relieve tension and anxiety, increase physical strength, etc. The promotion of Tinghuajiu violated these regulations.
In response to the issue of Tinghuajiu claiming that it has an international patent for its health properties, reporters at the March 15th Gala inquired on the official website of the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization. The material submitted by Tinghuajiu "The combination of alcohol and coolant is effective in regulating sexual function and protecting the heart." Cerebrovascular system, promoting liver cell regeneration, anti-tumor, improving immunity and sleep quality", the national processing status column is blank. The agent responsible for the patent said that the cooling agent mentioned in Tinghuajiu's patent is not a high-tech substance, but a common mint extract.
That night, Nandu reporters checked multiple e-commerce platforms and found that Tinghuajiu-related products could no longer be found. The person in charge of a Tinghua Wine Experience Center in Yantai, Shandong Province told Nandu reporters, "Because we were named at the 315 Party, the company will not let us open for now and will not open tomorrow."
In May 2022, Yibin Tinghua Wine Development Co., Ltd. was sued by Kweichow Moutai and Luzhou Laojiao at the same time for suspected trademark infringement and unfair competition.
