2024 is the fifteenth year since the National Center for the Performing Arts Chorus was established. On January 29, the National Center for the Performing Arts Choir announced the 2024 music season in Beijing. This is also the choir’s first choral season since its establishment, and it is also a rare music season nationwide launched by a professional choir.
"'Voice of Harmony' is our first independent music season. Diversity and brilliance are the most prominent features of the overall performance arrangement." Jiao Miao, resident conductor of the National Center for the Performing Arts Chorus, said that the music season will be comprehensive , a detailed and complete presentation of the National Center for the Performing Arts Choir's wonderful performances in concerts, operas, symphony choruses and other forms throughout the year, bringing a rich and colorful musical feast to the audience. "We focus on theme planning, format innovation and repertoire creation, especially in the concert section. Based on the type and style of the works, we have planned and launched the National Rhythm Menghua, Together with the Music, Music from the Four Seas and Renewal The four series of themes of "Sound" respectively correspond to Chinese music, opera excerpts, world art songs and modern works. 2024 is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. In the "National Rhythm and Dream" series, the choir will invite conductor Zheng Jian to collaborate on "Journey Cantabile" - a special concert commemorating the 10th anniversary of the speech at the literary symposium, providing the audience with a theme work rich in the strong sounds of the times. . At the same time, under the leadership of resident conductor Jiao Miao and conductor Meng Huan, folk songs, art songs, and modern works from China will also be on stage.
2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. The choir will invite conductor Li Xincao to collaborate on the "Concert of Selected French Opera Excerpts", presenting classic excerpts from French operas produced and performed since the founding of the National Center for the Performing Arts, including "Carmen" and " "Pearl Fishers", "Lakme" and "Romeo and Juliet", let everyone enjoy the essence of French opera.
In this series of music from all over the world, Lu Jia, the music and artistic director of the National Center for the Performing Arts, will lead everyone to experience the most classic choral masterpieces from the Renaissance, Baroque, classical to romanticism in the concert "Enjoy the Good Sound", Monte Classic works by Verdi, Bach, Mozart, Brahms and other composers will be presented one by one. Wu Lingfen, conductor of the National Center for the Performing Arts Chorus, will also continue to explore and polish distinctive folk music from around the world in the "Window of the World" concert. What is worth looking forward to is that this season there will also be four dazzling male chorus concerts, including classic male chorus repertoire and new adapted songs, bringing unique audio-visual enjoyment to the audience.

In this concert season, Zou Jingzhi and composer Zou Ye will jointly create a choral suite with the theme of traditional Chinese music "Su Wu Shepherd", "Yangguan Triple Layer", "Three Plum Blossom Alleys" and "Spring River Flower Moonlight Night". This set of repertoire will give new vitality to traditional classic works, using richer and more diverse creative techniques, and presenting them three-dimensionally and vividly through chorus performance.
