After holding many solo concerts in China in 2023, Luo Mei's name has become more and more familiar to the audience. Recently, post-00 pianist Luo Mei performed solo concerts at the Henan Art Center Concert Hall in Zhengzhou and the Inner Mongolia Ulanqiate Grand Theater in Hohhot. 2023 coincides with the 150th anniversary of the birth of composer Rachmaninov. Pianists around the world have held concerts to commemorate this classical musician. "Love Words" comes from the Spanish composer Granados's masterpiece "Goya's Painting", which best reflects the musical characteristics of this work that combine passion and elegance. Luo Mei's performance fully explored the passion of love that this piece of music tries to convey, and at the same time, it also well captured the tender and lingering artistic conception of the work. She was able to find a delicate balance between these two opposing emotions, embodying The young pianistās outstanding musical accomplishment.
Chopin has always been pianist Luo Meiās favorite composer since she started learning piano. Her interpretation of Chopinās Ballade No. 1 demonstrated her in-depth research on the āpiano poetā over the past ten years. She fully captured the spiritual core of Chopin and the melody and rhythm characteristics of Polish folk music, and demonstrated the original interpretation of Chopin's music from the Polish school.
In the second half of the concert, the audience enjoyed three movements with different styles from Ravel's "Ghosts of the Night" - "Nastury", "Gallows" and "Phantom". Luo Mei conquered the audience with her delicate performance. Another highlight of the second half is Liszt's "After Reading of Dante". As one of the most famous piano music composers in the history of music, Liszt traveled around the world in his youth and wrote many outstanding piano works during his travels. He later edited these pieces into the piano suite "Travel Years", and "The Traveling Years". "After Reading Dante" is the most well-known and popular piece of music in this suite. It is famous for its unbelievable difficulty of performance and depth of thought. It is also known as a touchstone of technique for top pianists. Luo Mei not only mastered Liszt's skills of challenging the limits of his fingers, but also conveyed the profound connotation of Dante's "Divine Comedy" to the audience, winning a warm response from the audience.
