"Beacon Fire in Tangtian" is an anti-Japanese story that reflects the people of Shaoyang. When the Japanese army approached Hunan in 1938, Lu Zhenyu, a Communist Party member and Marxist historian from Shaoyang, was assigned by the Hunan Provincial Party Committee to return to his hometown of Tangtian. During the war, the college taught a moving story of cultivating the backbone of the Anti-Japanese War, strengthening the national united front, and winning the final victory of the Anti-Japanese War; the film created the image of a group of patriotic teachers and students who passionately served the country, worked hard to save the nation, and were not afraid of sacrifice, and showed Shaoyang's rich cultural resources, Beautiful natural scenery and the Shaoyang spirit of daring to be the first in the world. The film integrates politics, ideology, education and viewing. It is not only a red movie, but also a high-quality local teaching material. It has strong historical and educational significance for Chinese people, especially the people of Shaoyang.
After watching the movie, the teachers all expressed that they had learned something. They truly understood the unremitting efforts and outstanding contributions made by the people of Shaoyang to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. They felt extremely proud of their identity as Shaoyang people and made it clear that they were loyal to the party’s educational cause.
