They are both known as "Chaoyang Yang Lanchun, the father of "The Gully", and Mr. Wang Jixiao, the leader of Santuan music design. Yang Lanchun is the director of the third group. Most of the plays of the third group are written and directed by Yang Lanchun. He also served as the head of the troupe. In spite of a lot of work, to go to Beijing for a performance, in May 1958, with the energy of the Great Leap Forward, he wrote the script of the first draft of "Chaoyanggou" in just 7 days, and then went into rehearsal. It is said that the title of "Chaoyanggou" was finally determined just before the official performance. Wang Jixiao is a native of Dandong, Liaoning. After graduating from "Lu Yi" in the northeast, he also came to the provincial opera troupe. A graduate of the composing department of a regular college with a mouth full of northeastern accents, after arriving in Henan, he has to engage in completely unfamiliar Henan opera music creation. This span is really not small. Fortunately, Wang Jixiao is a caring person. He has no complaints or discouragement. He plunged into the folk, collecting Henan folk tunes, folk songs and ballads. At the same time, he followed the predecessors of various troupes as teachers and asked humbly for advice. He soon became an expert in Henan opera music design. Wang Jixiao composes music for hundreds of operas and film and television dramas throughout his life. 1963 was a very fulfilling year for the three groups. At the beginning of the year, the director of Changying, Zeng Weizhi, took a fancy to "Chaoyanggou".
