Golden Rooster Awards (Golden Rooster Awards) was established in 1981, approved by the Central Propaganda Department and established by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Chinese Film National awards organized by the National Association. The Golden Rooster Award is also known as the "Expert Award" of Chinese film because of its professional and academic evaluation criteria, the authority of the jury composition, and the democratic rigor of the selection process.
The scope of participating films for the Golden Rooster Awards is: from May 16, 2017 to June 30, 2019, feature films, children’s films, science and education films, documentaries, opera films, and fine art films reviewed and approved by the National Film Bureau. The registration for the Golden Rooster Award started from May 5 to June 30 this year. A total of 277 films of various film types were received, including 103 feature films, 82 small and medium cost feature films, 25 children’s films, 12 art films, and science and education films. 7 films, 20 opera films, 28 documentaries.
