Netflix World War I movie "All Quiet on the Western Front" officially announced. The 17-year-old goes to the western front of World War I , but the initial excitement of joining the army is quickly shattered by the tragic reality of life in the trenches.

"All Quiet on the Western Front" is adapted from the German writer Erich Maria Remark's World War I novel, which was adapted into American films and TV films in 1930 and 1979. Today, this edition is created by the German production team, faithfully presenting the century classics written by the author.

The story, told from the perspective of 17-year-old German soldier Paul, begins three years after the outbreak of the First World War, at the time of the most brutal and bloody conflict in human history. Buoyed by the propaganda of the dream of glory, Paul and his friends left school to join the army, confident of victory. But the reality of the trench warfare was like a nightmare, keeping them haunted by rain, mud, and constant death.

The cast includes Felix Kammerer, Eberrechtschuch, Aaron Hilmer, Moritz Krause, Edin Hasanovic, Adrian Grünewald, Tee Bodemont, Tarembert, and Daniel Bull.

The film was written and directed by German director Eduard Berger of "Boy Jack" and "Germany 83 Years".

"All Quiet on the Western Front" has been selected to represent Germany in the 2023 Oscar for Best International Picture and will be available on Netflix on October 28.
