The popular movie star Lin Dai and Zhao Lei starred, causing a great sensation, and several classic songs in the play have also been sung in Hong Kong and Taiwan. "Beauty in the Country" won 10 awards at the Asian Film Festival, and Li Hanxiang was in the limelight for a while.
"The Liang Zhu" made Li Hanxiang the director with the most box office value in Asia. It led to the boom of Huangmei tune movies in Hong Kong and Taiwan in the 1950s and 1960s.
In 1983, he directed " Burning the Yuanmingyuan " and " Hearing the Politics " and won the Ministry of Culture's Outstanding Film Award.
