Religious wars were the mainstream of the Western world in the 16th and 17th centuries. All Catholics wanted to step down the Ottoman Empire and retake Constantinople and Jerusalem. The Ottoman Empire also moved along the Danube, hoping to plant the crescent flag. At the head of the city of Viana; and the Protestants, the Orthodox and the Catholics regarded each other as the most hateful enemies, and the fierceness of the war between them even exceeded the crusade against the infidels. In the religious wars at that time, the Protestants can be said to be a "clear stream." One of the Protestants' purposes was to try to delay the religious wars of the Catholics, and even cooperate with the Ottoman Empire at all costs.
The first person who dared to risk the world’s unrest was the patriarch of Protestantism- Martin Luther . Martin Luther not only married his wife (married in 1519, angered the Catholic single dogs), and spoke German. He wrote the Bible and publicly declared that the Ottomans were "honest and trustworthy." This is not only part of Martin Luther's view of life (he thought he could eat and sleep with infidels, ride horses, walks, and even marry infidels), it was also the key to his winning the support of many German princes.
Charles V inherited the properties of his grandfather and grandfather and became the owner of the first "empire that never sets in the sun". He handed over all the German industry to his brother Ferdinand. Ferdinand’s territories include Austria, Bohemia, and part of Hungary. He is in control of Germany’s silver resources. He tried to establish the highest council in the German region and carry out centralized reforms. The Ottoman invasion was the best reason. After Martin Luther called out that the Ottomans could also be friends, many German princes publicly boycotted Ferdinand for the sake of the overall situation.
and the expansion of the Ottoman Empire also hit the Catholic Church and created a power vacuum. In the Battle of Mohachi, 16 Hungarian Catholic bishops were killed and 7 (including two archbishops, they were commanders), Hungary occupied by the Ottoman Empire The number of Catholic clergy in the region has decreased by 68%. The fact that the German Protestant camp can gain a firm foothold is also related to the threat of the Ottoman Empire. In 1532, when the Habsburg family was sharpening their swords and preparing to fight the Protestant princes, the Ottoman army was also ready to move, forcing the Charles V brothers to temporarily stop. The Protestant princes also contacted the Ottoman Empire through France and demanded unified action with the latter. The Ottoman Empire's Suleiman the Great believed that Protestants and Muslims were very similar, both opposed the Pope and liked to destroy the icon. He also wrote to the Protestant princes, asking them to fight the Habsburg family and don’t worry about the Ottoman army. Because he promised that if "the Ottoman army enters Europe, it will give an amnesty to the Protestant princes." With the help of the Ottoman Empire and France, the Habsburg family's army of more than 148,000 was restrained from moving.
Protestants in the occupied areas of the Ottoman Empire have expanded in succession. They bid for various religious industries with their Catholic counterparts, and even provided human support for the Ottoman Empire. In a complex game situation, Protestantism has made considerable progress. Hungary, where Catholicism had an absolute advantage in the past, has become the territory of Protestantism. If it weren’t for the 17th century Ottoman Empire had just entered a period of decline, it would be hard to say who the final winner of the Thirty Years’ War was.
